Source? I don't remember ever hearing about this alleged offer. What I do remember is Roger Mayweather being present at the post fight presser for Margarito-Gomez a month later, and judging by his words, it doesn't seem if there ever was an offer. Either way, Top Rank offered fight to Mayweather later that year. Floyd opted to buy out his contract instead.

He made literally $1 more against Baldomir than he would have against Tony.

Hapened to long ago to have a source. Common knowledge though.

Excuses are Margo had no time to train for Mayweather and its immediately shunned even thoug he had a lot of time.

He made 1$ more and PPV sales.

    A LOT more.

Cotto have a better chance in beating Floyd than beating Margo in a rematch.

really...only if cotto avenges his loss to Margo. If Margo soundly beats Cotto again i wouldnt be as interested, but more so in PBF vs. Margo

Agreed.. Cotto was easily outboxing Margo in the early rounds, but then begin to get tired and lay on the ropes where he was taking triple uppercuts and such.. If Cotto conditions himself better for the rematch, then I think he can outbox Margo for 12 rounds.. After the first fight though, the way Cotto loss, he has a lot of balls and respect for wanting a rematch..

yep styles make fights. IMO Mayweather would outbox margo ridiculously.. margo could only win if mayweather tires. Only problem is, mayweather can box for 20 rounds lol. However Cotto vs Mayweather is a different fight all together. Love to see it! Mayweather would damage his legacy if he comes out of retirement and fights either oscar or hatton. He's better retired then fighting either of them two.

No, Cotto is not in Floyd's class lol... Unless Cotto makes a miraculous turn around, I don't want to see this fight. Floyd would've beat Cotto up worse than AM did.

Yeh because he knows he's the better boxer. Margo is just a madman with that granite chin of his. Cotto underestimated margo's chin and thought his power would KO him. Don't blame him though. I thought cotto had enough power to KO him to. But after watching that, nobody would even rock margo let alone KO him.

Disagreed, it would be a good fight. Cotto just couldn't handle the pressure and workrate from Margo. Floyds fighting style suits Cotto way more than Margo's. However i still think floyd would win on a decision.

floyd took a pay cut vs. Baldomir. His $8 million minus the $750,000 to buy out Arum to duck Margarito, plus floyd had to pay Joe Goossen a cut out of the De La Hoya purse. So floyd actually took a substantial pay cut to duck Margarito in order to fight Baldomir.

Also floyd ducked Cotto last year when the match was prime time, both unbeaten, floyd never did try to make the fight, there was zero discussions, instead he clung to some fairy tale that he really wanted to fight Cotto at 140 but Cotto missed his one and only chance. floyd's a lying fraud but you have to pay close attention to see through his deceptions. he is quite a good liar.
