Who's talking PPV in the 1st place? A fight like that you can't put on PPV. Now that you introduced the PPV element I'll tell you this much, my cancerous to boxing self sure as hell wouldn't pay for that **** on PPV and I question the intelligence of anyone who would. Honestly, no disrespect, but what you said has gotta be some of the stupidest **** I've ever heard. What kind of silly, groupie ass **** is that - buying any PPV he's on regardless of the opponent just because it's Cotto? I don't like Foreman. I'm not interested in watchin' him fight, regardless of who he's fightin'. It could be Foreman vs. Jesus at the Kip's Bay Boys & Girls Club and I'm still not going. You're talkin' to a man that's actually been to Cotto's fights so I don't know where you get off saying that I'm cancerous to boxing because I'm selective. On the contrary it's the dickriding fans that are cancerous to boxing cuz they buy any ****in' thing which leaves the powers that be with no incentive to give you a decent product. That's why Chavez Jr. is still continuing his bum of the month tour on PPV. I suppose I should buy that too because his father is one of the greatest of all time. Cut a long story short, Cotto vs Margarito 2: Redemption @ the Garden . . . I'll be there. Cotto vs Foreman @ the Garden . . . I will not be there . . . I will not purchase on PPV . . . and if I don't watch it intentionally then I might catch it by accident if I happen to be at the sports bar on Castle Hill.
Foreman would still be a risk at this point for Cotto, maybe a bad move but a respectable one. I do believe Cotto is a great fighter for his time, though maybe not an all-time great. You can't take the two beatings he's taken in his losses, plus all the other damage and not have it be serious baggage physically and mentally going into the ring again. I don't know how much he has left in him. But in two weight classes I believe he's defeated about ten world champions, former, then-current and then-future world champions. I wonder how many just good fighters could claim that.
this is the key for me. he didn't just lose, he got his ****ing ass kiced. i love cotto, every have since i picked pinto to beat him, but the nature of the loss is as important, or more important, than the loss itself. much like hatton, getting schooled in defeat is a huge attack on your record
Feather-fisted LMWs like Foreman are the only 154 lbers. Cotto has a shot at beating. Martinez or Williams would give Cotto yet another beating. Cotto's chin is subpar and Cotto's "best" figting style: high-guard coming forward, relentless attack type of style works best with iron-chinned types like Abraham, for instance.
I don't see Martinez as being touched by Cotto. I really like Miguel but he is alligator armed and Martinez made Williams reach for him.
foreman is one of the few boxers i've actually met (i'm lame i know but i'm canadian...) and watching him he has great movement. but so did paulie. he doesn't have the power to crack an egg and he couldn't get cotto off him. he beat santos cause he was shot to ****
interesting fight. even if cotto is on the downslide, he's still a very good fighter. i'm sure he'd make a more interesting match than santos. a draw wouldn't be out of the question
Foreman by TKO. I'll be rooting for Miguel, But @ 154lbs his chances don't look to good. (Yuri will look like a slugger Vs. Cotto @ 154lbs)
