I like it. Great preliminary before finishing his career vs Margarito a 2nd time. He could get a title at 154 and convince Margo to make the fight at 154 for the belt. This would add to the anticipation of the fight and end Cotto's career with a bang, win or lose.

Anyone else think that Cotto is going after a 154 title to set-up a big fight against Williams?

I doubt it...would Arum do business with Goossen? If Williams wins (which he would), Arum has nothing to gain from it the way he did with Margarito and Pacquiao, or even Clottey for that matter if he would have won. Maybe the guy to look at would be Cintron in an all PR showdown as the final fight of Cotto's career next year.

Are there no mandatory challengers for Yuri?

Even though Cotto's moving up in weight I still see him winning either by a late round TKO or UD. He is going to be extremely motivated after that horrible loss to Manny.

This is the weakest post I ever read...

Yuri Foreman is a champ, you're a nobody.
Who the hell are YOU to diss his style?

I'm sick of boxing fans always complaining about boxer's styles not being entertaining enough...no respect for the athletes at all.

Its not dick riding, its called respect...we don't need fans like you who can't appreciate a champion like Foreman. He beat an out of shape Santos, so what? Santos is still quality out of shape or in shape.

Cotto at 154 would be interesting enough and a huge challenge and a very interesting fight, if you don't think so then it shows how much cancer you got in you. This has to stop....

Boxing fans don't appreciate their athletes like MLB fans, NFL fans and NBA fans do.

Just a lot of disrespect...especially bumass*****s like this one.

If Cotto is serious about only 2-3 more fights, I can think of about 10 more guys I'd prefer to see him fight before he leaves. Yuri Foreman is a good fighter but he's boring as all hell and completely wrong for Miguel.

This would be a one sided drubbing of boring proportions.

This is not true and take it from somebody who believed that non-stop.

Fans of all sports hate all athletes. We hate them til they leave and then we spend years crying for them back.

Williams would demolish Cotto. In fact that would be one of the worst style match ups possible for Cotto. Cotto doesn't have the chin of a Margarito or a Martinez to withstand PW volume punching. He's no defensive, counter-punching expert like Martinez either.

I do not think 154 would fit Cotto very well. However, I think Yuri Foreman is exactly the kind of guy Miguel could poach a title off of. Cotto can bang, and he cuts off the ring well. Anything Foreman throws Cotto would smile at.

No way Cotto loses to Foreman, Cotto (should he fight) will win his 4th title in 3 weight classes putting him among some of the best in the class of year 2000 ...

Foreman isn't that good, he doesn't hit hard and I doubt he can outbox Cotto.

For you guys thinking that Cotto can't do it must don't know much about Cotto ... I'm sure he can beat most of those guys, and I would be that he would be a stiff test for someone like Martinez. Yeah Martinez is good but just because he showed up against Williams doesn't mean he's a world beater and the same goes for Williams ... I wouldn't hesitate to put my money on Pacquiao against Williams.
