From a styles perspective, these two fights are pretty much the same. Like Trinidad, Cotto is a one handed fighter who needs to be set to throw. Foreman does not fight like De La Hoya. However, he does fight like De La Hoya did against Trinidad. Expect Foreman to stay on the move, neutrilize that left hook, and pepper Cotto with punches when Cotto isn't prepared to throw. Foreman could win this fight going away if he doesn't give away rounds like Hoya did.

I am totatlly baffled by the career path of Miguel Cotto. It's almost like he's being punished by Top Rank. They are really putting Miguel through the Top Rank meat grinder. Margo, Clottey and Pacquiao were all bad matchups for Cotto. Foreman is no different. Cotto's only chance is a lucky punch or a gift from the judges.

Foreman isn't a great fighter. He isn't a bad fighter either. However, stylistically, he's a bad matchup for Cotto. Cotto would be better served taking on a more talented fighter that doesn't have a stylisitc advantage over him.

I'm not sure if this is such a bad stylistic match up for Cotto though. I think he quite enjoys being able to decide when and when not to go in, and Foreman will give him that opportunity. If Cotto is allowed to dictate the action then he should do well. However Foreman is quick and elusive, has a size and reach advantage, so he might pepper Cotto. It all depends on how sharp Cotto is and if he has lost a step.

I thought it was a smart move on Top Rank's part. Gomez had a relatively good name, and it was a chance for Cotto to put on an impressive performance leading up to his PPV showdown with Margarito.

Cotto has no real right hand. It's pretty weak. That's why Pacquiao was able to beat his ass so thoroughly. Pac had absolutely no fear of that right hand from Cotto. Cotto rarely does any real damage with his right hand.

cotto has a good right hand and its gunna look even better june 5th manny has been working on it,his left is greater then his right u are correct but 2 say he has 1 hand is obsurd, and this fight will be nothing like de la hoya trinidad not the magnitude nor fighting style of that fight

You're fooling yourself if you believe Cotto has a good right hand. He's damn near 30 years old, I doubt he can improve it much at this point in his career. Anyway, time will tell if I'm correct about this fight.

Trinidad had great power in his right hand and Cotto doesn't need to be set to throw.

He was still very dependant on that left hook. But you're right, he was much more of two handed fighter than Cotto. That's even worse news for Cotto. And Cotto does need to be set throw, at least to throw hard, effective punches. He was throwing a lot of punches while not being set against Margo, and none of them deterred Margarito. Margo has a good chin, but it's not undentable(see the Mosley fight).

I agree with Top Rank doing Miguel dirty..
But not with your prediction, I think Cotto will win a UD, i think he could even drop Foreman..
