Cotto vs foreman

A Foreman onslaught? Even against lesser opposition he doesn't take chances. He'll go for a stoppage if he feels Cotto can't hurt him, but I think he'll stink out the joint to a points win if that's how it goes.

Just watched the video above: great comments from Manny. He really sees what's wrong in Cotto's game of late - and he was so right about what happened with Pacquaio. I think he'll have developed the plan to make Foreman work - and it'll probably be using Cotto's left stick.

i cant see cotto changing that quick, he,s gunshy now, cuts easy , and when the fight gets tough he goes on the back foot to avoid punishment, foremans team no he needs to look good, and a high energy fighter like him can cut and bewilder oponents when they set there feet and decide to go for it.

 

I see Cotto's stamina coming into this a lot, Manny can do a lot of things for a fighter but like Taylor he can't stop them blowing their load early. Clottey, Marg, pac and he did seem a bit done in the Mosley fight he is set to his ways imo.

I'm leaning toward a Foreman UD but i might have a look around for the Foreman Vs Tsurkan fight, this could show some of Foremans flaws seeing as Santos was ****.

 

I cant believe how many people think foreman will win, he is godawful. Cotto by wide ud or ko. It wont be close...

 

Anyone think Cotto might come out southpaw? I always hear about Cotto being a southpaw fighting orthodox could manny change him back?

 

I'm not sure Cotto's gunshy at all - that's what got him into trouble against Pacquaio. He just knows he's too fragile to stand in there and take lots of shots.

Anyway, Foreman just isn't an aggressive fighter. Even when he put Santos down, he didn't take chances. Pot shot combo, hold, reset. There's been a massive overstatement of Foreman's skills based on him beating Santos. I mean, this was not the same Santos who beat Margarito - which the chap in the video made such a point of.

And I do think Manny can have made those changes. Cotto's form slipped more than his skills (hence how he outboxed Judah and Mosley), but he had a tendency to stand in the trenches when he didn't need to. If Manny's got him moving again, and in position to throw combos, then this is an excellent competitive fight.

If Manny hasn't been able to help Miguel make those adjustments, Cotto will lose a close decision.

 

Foreman will simply outbox Cotto. Cotto has been on the slide since his fight with Clottey....

 

Beating Cotto is anything but simple, mate. Foreman isn't a pressure fighter and he won't force the pace. If Foreman does outbox the guy with superior skills, I'll be both amazed and willing to give massive kudos.

 

I will take back 'simply' but still believe Foreman will outbox Cotto. Cotto has looked a shadow of himself in his last two fights and that inexperience in his corner doesnt add any confidence either.

 

Manny Steward's inexperienced?

The only inexperienced guy left is Santiago, and he's not there to advise during the fight. They've got their cut man and Steward for everything else.
