Why didn't you equate the Hopkins/Calzahge/Simon Brown numbers I posted in the same post to Floyd also:patsch

come on, the insinuation is just wrong.

Cotto-Floyd would do massive #'s at the gate and on PPV.

Cotto-Gomez was a gross mis-match. . . there was little if any doubt in the outcome, thats why the numbers were weak.

Cotto-Margarito will do very well with its #'s as well.

I dont understand if Mayweather is a draw why should Cotto be???
Hey when Cotto beats Mayweather he'll be a draw.Thats what Mayweather wants right then Cotto can give him a rematch and beat him up again and Money may will be laughing to the bank.Thats what hes interested in... money right?

Yeah, you got it dead on...

...you know there's something wrong with the sport when it's more about "prize" than "fighting"...BUT that's the nature of our current society... :verysad

Fraud wasnt a draw, Gatti was - he fought him anyway

Floyd was Gatti's mando. He either had to fight him or give up his belt. Props to Gatti for fighting him anyway against his promoter's wishes

Floyd did 3 straight PPVs over 300k prior to fighting DLH. Floyd was the biggest money fight that DLH could've made.

This is laughable. Hatton fought 3 straight fights in the US right before he fought Floyd. British fans had unlimited access to tickets in those fights. None of them were close to selling out. British fans had access to only 3,900 tickets in the Floyd fight. The fight sold out in less then an 1 hour. The fight did 850k buys in the U.S. No way in hell that many Americans were buying the fight to see Hatton. If Hatton was mainly responsible for those numbers, his fight against Lazcano wouldn't be on Versus.

i'm not suprised by cotto gomez ratings. it was a horrible missmatch, both actually. plus there was a better card on showtime. that at leats took 600k viewers away. what suprised me was the ratings for hopkins calzaghe.. those were horrible., and it was a big fight and i think of hopkins as one of the biggest american names. boxing is really dead in america. while boxing in europe is definitly on the rise.
if you look at the population, germany had more viewers then america, while it was at 8 o clock in the morning there. i hope this encourage rtl to show more fights.

cotto margo should definitly not be on ppv. that will do probaby not more the 225k ppv numbers,

Like fighters never dropped belts for "business decisions" - Gatti would have still been the bigger draw if he dropped the belt.

WHo was the bigger draw, Fraud or DLH?

Who was the bigger draw, Fraud or Hatton?

No it wouldnt. It would do good numbers but mostly due to Floyd.

Im telling even Arum knows that its not a big money fight, with is the reason that he hasnt even offered Floyd a fight with Cotto. In fact in the article where Arum spoke of Floyd asking him to make the fight, Arum said that it wouldnt even net Floyd 7 million, but then he wanted us to believe that Margo could get him 8?? Sounds funny to me.
