    Who else is excited for this fight? Officially I'm picking Cotto by stoppage. However, this will be an exciting fight. Gomez has good size, adequate defense, good boxing skills, and handles pressure well. This is a great fight for Cotto. It's a chance for him to showcase his skills, against a popular fighter. Trust me, people are going to enjoy this fight. Thoughts?

    I agree Gomez's body is soo soft Cotto's left arm might get penetrate through his belly and come out of gomez's back !

    I'm less than pleased with the opponent (I'd rather he fight Clottey or somebody of that caliber), but it's a stay-busy fight similar to Oktay Urkal last year. Except Gomez isn't a mandatory.

    I think Cotto will show his skills in this fight and look very impressive. A stoppage around the mid way point seems likely. It should generate more interest in him and lead to bigger and better matchups.

    Gomez knows this is a very hard fight for him, Cotto is in his prime and he ain't no Arturo Gatti. Gomez better be prepare so he doesn't end up like other Contender guys like Banks (vs Pantera) or Codrington (vs Green) sleeping on the ropes. I know he hasn't lost by a KO yet on his career but if he isn't careful with Cotto he will get his first.

    You people are completely underestimating Gomez. The dude has fought bigger punchers than Cotto (Manfredo hits harder, he's a decent SMW that stopped big SMW's in Pemberton and Spina, plus he kept it competitive with Lacy), yet Gomez was able to beat him and be competitive in the rematch.

    Obviously Cotto is the favorite, and for good reason, but Gomez should be very competitive and will provide more challenge than Urkal or Quintana did.

    Only person Gomez beat worth mentioning was Gatti ..I agree this is a total mismatch ..It should be entertaining but Cotto is going stop him ..

    I don't think Gomez has anything for Cotto, most likely it's gonna be a one sided beatdown.

    Agreed. I am slightly frustrated about this fight also, especially considering all the bigger fights that are there to be made.
