Cotto TKO9 The strength difference would be apparent early. Hatton backed down from 147lbs after his tussle with Collazo, Cotto would bang the body and put Hatton away late in the fight. Hatton would have his moments but would be worn down by the end of the fight.
at 147 Cotto wins easy. He's far more filled out at welter and the 7 pounds does wonders for him. at 140 its a far more evenly matched fight.
Who has the best chin, Collazo or Cotto? Can Hatton hurt Cotto at 147? Judah was a real disappointment- Cotto still has not been tested IMO
Cotto might win this at 147 pounds, but it wouldn't be a blowout like you non-knowledgable morons would like to say. :yep Of course you're going to say "Collazo stunned Hatton, what do you think Cotto would do" blah blah blah. Hatton got clipped by a few punches he didn't see and that's where he got hurt the most, due to the fact that Collazo is a left-hander with faster hands than Cotto. It took Cotto eleven rounds of big powershots both body and head to get rid of front-running, mental-break-down Judah. If you think Hatton doesn't last as long as Judah, you're stupid. Hatton would make Cotto fight all the way through and I'm confident he'd give him his toughest test. After 5-6 rounds all Judah thought about was survivial. Hatton is too determined for that ****, and he takes a much better punch than Judah does. And what big strength difference are you talking about ? Hatton is very strong in close quarters. He bullied Tszyu backwards for 11 rounds in their fight. Has Cotto ever fought anyone as physically strong as someone like Tszyu? no
Considering how Collazo was able to weather his storm at 147 and keep the fight close I have to go w/Cotto ..It be an enetrataining 7 rds but COTTO would prevail ..
I wouldn't say its revealed anything. Cotto sucked to much weight to get to 140. He's far better suited for 147. Hatton doesnt hold the extra 7 pounds well and is a far better fighter at 140. It would be far more interesting at 140 than 147.
I would love to see this fight at the garden. These 2 would sell it out in about 5 minutes. I'd pick cotto by late stoppage.
Good post, presents the other side of the arguement. I think part of the problem with Collazo was the southpaw stance. Also, fair point about Judah lasting till the eleventh round. The difference I see here though, is that Hatton would engage Cotto, its his fight style, and thats why I think Cotto eventually finishes him sooner than Zab (a southpaw who uses footwork and distance moreso than Hatton).
But you have to say Cottos chin would be a sitting duck for a close quarters fighter like Hatton Hatton has to KO Cotto by 7th to win- I think Ricky has stamina issues later on
Cotto is too strong for Hatton at 140 and 147. Hatton has a better chance at 140, but at 147, Cotto win by TKO
