i think hatton would lose, but in all fairness Word has some very valid points. Personally i'm a hatton fan, think he's sound, but cotto is so impressive. These posts make me laugh tho, there isnt many on here who are truly impartial, saying Hatton gets KNFO in 3 coz he's **** and overatted as he's british etc..... it doesnt make for a good argument does it, its just plain childish at the end of the day?! We'r talking about boxing here, ANYTHING can happen, and as Word said, Cotto has been hurt before by torres, who i thought if he had 30 seconds to a minute left of that round, then he could have finished him, just proves no-one is invincible.

    Stupid logic.

Just because it took Mayweather ten, does not mean Cotto can't do it quicker. There has been a few fighters that Mayweather failed to KO yet Cotto ****ed them up or Mayweather TKO'd them later on but Cotto did it earlier.

Oh and at 147 where Cotto is at his best, Quintana, Mosley and Judah all punch harder than Hatton.

spot on mate but as the thread was started by a hater it's what we've come to expect on here,no considered opinion by some.hatton doesn't beat cotto, actually at welterweight i think cotto is a wrecking machine, but they've now got hatton down as some overrated talentless bum.

Well what can I say that has not been already mentioned....I think because of Hattons heart, determination, strength and relentless attack he would make the fight competitive. Cotto simply has more tools and a sharper attack it would eventually take its toll and Hatton would be stopped around the 7th round. Though the fight would have devasting effects on Hatton if he was to continue fighting afterwards.....its unfortunate but Hatton's greatest attributes would ultimately be the cause of his brutal defeat in such a fight.

That's far from the truth, Hatton is strong determined and willing to give his all to win, that's something that can't be taught...his talent is apparent.

    :good :good

There are arguments that favour Cotto and others that say Hatton would win. Anything could happen and no one knows it. Fantasy matchups are STUPID.

Joe C has skills. Hatton has talent, but no skills what so ever. How many straight rights down the pipe does it take to realize that if you are going to lunge in, put your guard up.

A skillful fighter knows this. Talent got ricky hatton past 95% of his competition. Old age got him past Kosta and Castillo. Lack of skill made him struggle against a B-fighter in Collazo and get totally dominated by Floyd.

I'm not a hater, but I just know that Ricky's resume is way overrated.

the only version of Cotto that Hatton would have a chance with is a weight-drained Cotto at 140...any higher weight and Cotto breaks him in half....Hatton's only power comes in bodyshots but Cotto hits harder there too....

i doubt Hatton takes Cotto at 140 either. Cotto wasnt exactly some fraile weak fighter.

Although Hatton walks around at 190 it is fat!

For muscle mass at any weight Cotto would outweigh Hatton..... that is why Cotto is a naturally bigger guy!!

And yes Hatton has faults but so does every fighter, basically Hatton has his name in British and to an extent Boxing history with the win over Tszyu. and to be honest he will probably be happy with that.
