Who else is PW supposed to fight? Berto ain't ready, Cotto just lost, SSM is ancient and washed up, and who knows what Clottey is doing, the margo fight was the only one that made sense, since Margo claims he is the #1 guy.

 

if Paul wanted his fight with Margarito so badly, why didnt he just dump the WBO title and get ranked to force a mandotory with Margarito? why is he moving up to win another bogus belt at 154???

Running away from 147 to move up a division?, that's not running that's actually improving. Especially when the best Welterweight, a man he already whopped, is running scared from a rematch HE IS SUPPOSED to ask for. Turning down a career high payday pretty much proves that this guy wants no part of it.

Exactly, aside from the Cotto and Williams fights he has a career of Cherry picking, he wouldn't fight SSM at his peak in 01, and he wouldn't fight Winky when he got called on his "most feared man in boxing" BS.

 

The WBO gave him an ultimatum - either make the fight at 154 a non-title fight, or vacate the 147 belt, so he's vacated. Bull**** sanctioning body politics as usual. As far as I've heard, he still intends to fight at 147 if big money fights are available there.
