I would love to see these 2 fight in the future, if Cotto decided to cut to 147 how would you fare against JMM.
When the last time JMM has been ko'ed???????????? JMM is an elite fighter Cotto is not, that's what alot of people fail to see here
And please explain why you think Cotto is not an elite fighter? Because if you look at all the top welterweights of the last 5 yrs., he stands out the most.
Everyone is going to apply the triangle theory to this one because Pacquiao is the common opponent who beat down Cotto and has struggled 3 times with Marquez but I don't think it is that simple. It's a difficult one because it's hard to tell how their styles would mesh. I wouldn't be surprised by a close decision for either guy to be honest.
i think cotto wins, depending though if he stalks jmm and cuts corners, he just seems far too strong when he was at that weight i think he'd bully him. Just a stylistic nightmare imo for jmm
JMM has too much ring smarts for Cotto, despite the size advanatage for Cotto he'll find a way to scrape a close but clear decision. as someone else said JMM= Elite, Cotto= never quite at that level despite being overated by many. If Cotto wasn't at 154 for the last few years I would pick Cotto based on size but in this case I feel JMM would actually be more comfortable at the weight or at least as comfortable and he's much better at just about everything than Cotto besides lacking power in comparison.
Cotto have been one of the top Jr. Welterweight, Welterweight, and now the top Jr. Middleweight while Marquez on the other hand, have been one of the top Featherweight, Super Featherweight, the top Lightweight before he fought Pacquioa.. JMM's best wins was against, Barrera, Casamayor, Juan Diaz twice, and Katsidis.. Cotto's best wins was against Quintana, Judah, Mosley, Foreman, Mayorga, Margarito.. Saying one is elite deserves the other one the same compliment..
