These thoughts came after Pac struggled against JMM.. :think Pac having a hard time fighting JMM doesn't mean that all the fights where Pac won convincingly, JMM would do the same.. :nono Cotto-JMM is comparable to Martinez-Floyd.. Where the other one's size will beat the other one's skill.. :bbb
You realize if you stuck with that type of logic, NO ONE should be KO'd. He's getting older and takes a lot of flush shots Cus. Cotto's a much bigger guy with more power then probably most anyone he's faced. It has nothing to do with being elite. That's just a label...
You're wrong, the skill disparity in these two fights are enough to negate both the weight advantages both of these men carry. :deal
:nono Size advantage will create much bigger power advantage.. Adding those extra pounds on their full body weight punches will be too much for the skilled ones.. Plus the skills advantage is not far enough to make them look like low-level boxers.. :deal
^^^ Alt whatever you say is meaningless... Your words carry no worth especially when you think power is the only thing giving the 2 you speak of the win. Cotto tried that power thing on Pac... Cotto was owned... Cotto tries that on JMM, he will look foolish.. the skill disparity is to much.... and the weight issue is not enough to carry those 2 men. JMM UD cotto... Mayweather UD Martinez... End of/.
JMM and Pacquioa are two different things.. You think JMM would have owned Cotto like the same thing that happened between Cotto and Pac? atsch JMM will counter-punch all night long, JMM would hurt Cotto but not in the point that JMM would drop him and make him go into his bicycle.. :nono The only way to beat Cotto is heavy pressure, which is not present in JMM's arsenal.. Its either Cotto will potshot like Mayweather did, or he will apply heavy pressure like Juan Diaz tried, although Diaz did not succeed, Cotto will.. JMM is not hard to hit, Cotto will just pour the body punches, you think JMM will survive that in 12 rounds? Now if you think he can, your the one who's nonsense.. :bart Same thing with Floyd and Martinez.. If Martinez will go at Floyd the way he did against Williams, you think Mayweather's shoulder roll, and counter punching will be enough? Floyd will run, too bad Martinez has better Cardio, and can walk thorugh Floyd's best puches.. 36 minutes will be enough for Martinez to land a decent shot to make Floyd fall.. :smoke
Difference, Marquez at one point or another was actually the top fighter at 126, 130, 135, and even went up and beat the #1 welter at the moment. Cotto has never been #1 at 147 or 154. Close fight, Marquez fights very cautiously, and even at 39 still finishes the fight on his feet. Cotto SD, but at that age you never know in Boxing.
JMM has always been behind Barrera and Morales at the time before he defeated Barrera.. John defeated him @126(I haven't seen the fight), Pac defeated him @130(close one).. The only time he has been the top was on the lightweight division when he cleared it up.. :smoke
Just because JMM does well against Pac doesn't mean he will do well against Cotto. JMM is Pac's kryptonite, he has his number. That's the only reason why people regard JMM so highly. Fat boy Juan Diaz had him troubled in the first fight and even Katsidis put him on his ass. Cotto is a whole different style. He's bigger, stronger, and has a whole different skillset and mentality than Pac. Cotto boxes well on his frontfoot, but even better off his backfoot. And we all know how JMM looks when he becomes the pursuer. Cotto UD Marquez, letting him taste the canvas once or twice.
^ I dont see it... to bad anyways a cotto fight is not even worth it dude is all name and mayweather about to bank on any credibility he has left at 154... after that a money fight with canelo and thays it. Jmm vs Rios/Peterson/pac-bradley/ are the only fights of interst to me...
