Ive got a little bit of news for you buddy , Cotto against anybody commands a big money fight , granted Khan would be a nice payday , but its a little silly to think Cotto needs Khan for financial reasons , Cotto must be one of the wealthiest currently active figters .

On the fight itself , its another silly assumption right now that Khan belongs in the ring with Cotto , a sharp , powerfull , well schooled , seasoned world champion . For me Khan is still proving himself as an established world champion .

He's had big trouble with Maidana and looked sloppy and average against McCloskey , even if he does a job on Judah , Cotto @147 is a really big ask !!!!

That said , these are the type of fights Amir does want , so why not !!!

Top Rank - Golden Boy doing business with these two particular fighters = not likely ..........................

Normally at some point in a fight Cotto gets stunned by fast hands, but i can't even see Khan having the power to do that. He doesn't have power like Judah, Pacquiao.

Cotto is an elite fighter, who knows how to stay calm and take his time in a fight. Would love to see him stalking Khan. I agree with everyone, Cotto stops Khan late. Is Cotto past his best, yes. Is he finished, no way.

I agree that Cotto doesn't need a dancing partner to generate good money.

And with the fight, it's not that silly to think Khan would be a good opponent for Cotto. Cotto is damaged goods and is no longer the beast he used to be. For this reason, I think a relatively green Khan would be able to make it a competitve and entertaining fight, despite losing in the end. If Ortiz is considered a very legit threat to Mayweather (laughable, I know), then I think Khan - who's on the same level as Ortiz - at the very least is a worthy opponent for a past-prime Cotto down at 147.

I personally think it would be a brilliant fight. On that would, like someone has already pointed out, bring out admirable qualities in both guys.

Lets seen Khan first with Judah and then we could talk about Cotto. But will Amir and Team Freddy force Cotto to 145 as well if this ever happend:lol:

Why do people keep sayin that Cottois damaged goods, He wasn't shot after te Margo fight, he just adapted and became more defensively aware instead of being a wrekless terminator. Cotto smashes Kahn badly.

Cotto would systematically break Khan down.

Khan is just a basic guy with fast hands, he doesn't have enough skills or tools to beat Cotto.

We don't even know How would Khan be at 147.

I think 147 would suit Khan down to the ground, I also think Khan's power would increase at 147 and with his speed that would have an Pacman effect.

Cotto can't deal with speed and movement, Khan with his improved power at 147 can outbox Cotto, Khan at 147 will be a different animal.

For me Cotto is not the same since the Marg loss.

    Erm, because he is.

He's not shot, but he's clearly not the same fighter he once was.

The only guy whose speed and movement Cotto couldn't deal with was Manny ****ing Pacquiao.

Needless to say, Pacquiao's footwork is eons above Khan's.

Nah, he hasn't looked the same since Margarito. Cotto has always throughout his career switched up between being an aggressive stalker and a boxer/mover who used the ring and picked his shots.

Still one of the top fighters in his divisions, but seems to be on the decline, although he's not shot. Like, say, Meldrick Taylor post-Chavez 1, pre-Norris at WW.
