Does Kirkland deserve a shot at Cotto's title right now? And if they were to ever fight, how would Kirkland do against this current version of Cotto? Your thoughts? :think

    :good

with Cotto's skillset, I think he may do better against Kirkland than what most think... but I would still favor Kirkland to out-power and out-fight a game Cotto.. (only if it's the same Kirkland who fought Angulo) :yep

I think Cotto would do well, until he got caught by something big.

But Kirklands chin will always be the x-factor.

Kirkland is just a brute-force machine early on. That's all. If Cotto can stay away and remain unscathed after four or so rounds, he'd begin to outbox him very easily.

Kirkland by devastating Ko inside 5 rounds. Cotto couldn't stand up to Kirkland assault but for so long. Good fight while it lasts but a Ko from Kirkland wouldn't happen!!!

    Why Kirkland?

Ishida sonned Kirkland yet no one mentions Ishida. What does Kirkland actually have that impressed a lot of ESBers?

Cotto showed improvements. Cotto UD or late round beat down.

You do know that Kirkland's conditioning was terrible (his own fault) for that fight, correct? Kirkland would body Ishida in a rematch under Wolfe.

I think that Kirkland's chin is kinda underrated due to the Ishida fight.. but did you see him prior to that when he ate Joel Julio's bombs like M&M's and kept trucking forward?!?... i think the 2 years away did hurt Kirkland due to improper training... good ups to Ishida for being able to take advantage of it at that time but I don't think Kirkland's chin is a liability at this point.

Ishida hasn't done anything significant since his win over Kirkland while James has gone on a winning streak and beaten a very feared and powerful junior middle in Angulo.

Have you followed Kirkland prior to his Ishida fight? James was awesome raw talent and still developing... :good
