Cotto vs Kirkland possible for Feb 25 HBO PPV

Terrible fight. I get why Cotto is still fighting- he has a big contract with Roc Nation who has to overpay to get any top tier guys to come to their neophyte company (i.e. Rigo, Ward and Miguel.) But for his last contractual fight with them, it would be nice if they picked someone more credible than Kirkland.

While Kirkland can definitely bang, he's been inactive for so long since getting wiped out by Alvarez that i can't imagine he'd be able to do anything of note in a fight with Cotto.

I just hope Miguel retires after that fight since he'll have completed his contract with Roc Nation. He used to be a very good fighter and it's time he moved on from pro boxing. He can't beat any of the top JMW's (and probably WW's for that matter.)

 

Roc Nation has to go PPV to attempt recovering some of the money they threw away on Cotto, especially considering this is his last fight on their deal.

 

2:59 actually and Matt 'Mad Dog Killer' Macklin did it even quicker. Unfortunately that doesn't make either Perro or Kirkland any good, much as I used to enjoy watching them fight. How Kirkland remains relevant when he's spent less than 500 seconds in the ring in the last 3 years is a mystery to me.

 

$70 for this mess, and people complain at mr apples and pears.

what if cotto wins somewhat impressively and it sells relatively well? does this still make canelo/ggg for september? or does golovkin get left with his tiny peener in his hand again?

 

Not only that, they should hold this fight in the middle of the streets or in an old barn because that's the caliber of it. Oscar drug his ass outa the dope house for Canelo to beat the brakes off him and now Cotto following suit. Kirkland has been reduced to a punching bag and it is of his own making. For once I would just like Kirkland to pick his nuts up off the ground and train like he has some pride in himself and step into that ring like the same man that walked into Mexico and put a beat down on Anguelo.

 

Are they going to fight at 155?

 

Kirkland will get Ishida'd... And I still can't believe this will have a $60 price tag.

 

No way James can even get a tune up fight with this date set for 2/2017
Cotto going to look like a killer because this is so perfectly staged with no time for James to shake off the rust

I never forget the hype about him and how his wife behaved like he's the best ever. Then he got destroyed by Canelo. People on ESB even scored the round where he was down for Trout. xD The hype was insane.

 

Kirkland has always had a Glass Jaw. Doesn't matter which version shows up.
