Cotto is a more rounded fighter than Marcos. His use of a jab and body allow him to keep some rounds from turning into slugfests and puts those rounds in his pocket. Cotto 116-112 in a very eventful fight.
Cotto in a close FOTY type fight. Maidana gets dropped with a bodyshot early, then comes back to drop Cotto late, but fails to finish him in time.
Torres = Maidana with less skill and power but better heart and chin. Cotto Ko Maidana but being hurt in the proces.
No, it doesn't say that. The threadstarter has said the Cotto FROM 140, vs Maidana...not that Cotto would be moving down.
not saying 154 COTTO, saying that these are two of my favorite boxers as of right now AGAIN, JUST CLARIFIED IT RIGHT THERE PEOPLE SEEM TO READ JUST FINE, SEEMS LIKE YOU'RE THE ONE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH IT, ALL GOOD THOUGH, I C YOUR POINT IN THE MIX UP :good :good
Definitely Cotto. A lot of people now downgrading Cotto based on his performances against Margarito and Pacquiao. It's like c'mon, how would you put Maidana against fighters like them? You think Cotto will be running and boxing against Maidana? Maidana is nothing different from Ricky Hatton stylewise. Cotto will dismantle and destroy him.
I'd favor Cotto to take it in an absolute war. We'd probably see one of those rare but very possible occasions where he tastes the canvas.
Torres had more conventional technique than Maidana, for sure. Better guard, and shorter punches. (Though Maidana is making small but fruitful improvements in his game, as I'd mentioned before.) Maidana has a shitload of heart, but Torres is definitely comparable in that regard. Both are tough as nails.
