As I have stated before, I will not get excited and say that Cotto looked "AWESOME" after fighting a stiff-ass, easy 2 hit fighter, with no skill or defense. Haven't we learned anything the the whole Pacquiao farce? But with all that said...his stamina was terrific. Fights I would like to see for Cotto: Bundrage, Kirkland, Martirosyan, Williams and/or Chavez Jr.
Cotto has a wierd way of retreating. Where he kind of wiggles his legs. He's the only boxer who moves backward like that. I think that's one of the reasons he's underrated fighting off the back foot. His combos look good. But his footwork looks terrible. I'm not saying it is Terrible, but it looks it.
I dont think its the amazing part that sticks with this fight. The fact that he was boxing just like this in the 1st fight and something happen. Things turn around and physically Cotto didnt look the same. And this fight is almost identical but after a 6 round Cotto still looked crisp and started to land more and cleaner. In this fight what stuck out to me is the way Cotto controlled the bigger guy with strength, clench, and pushing him back and around in the ring. No one thought this fight would be so dominated from one side....
