I'm only blind in one eye but..

Cotto is the better boxer so he has to use that to his advantage, playing with fire in what you are suggesting. He seemed to have stamina issues, if he works on a few areas i think he makes margo look like a fool for most of the fight.

If Cotto had great stamina, he would've outpointed Margarito in their first fight. Cotto is not going to hurt Marg. So he has to box. But box more smartly. He has to find a way to conserve more energy and clinch more which should help quicken the fight. Come to think of it, i think Cotto has a decent chance. But he has to make technical changes. Without the changes, it's the same fight all over again.

Just think man,why did he have stamina issues?Cuz Margarito was beating the fight of him,he got tired cuz he was getting hit too much,it slowned him down.If he tries that 10 times,10 times he gets KOed.

thats not true because Cotto was getting tired against Mosley and Shane never hurt him.

He got tired because he had to stay on his toes for the entire fight.

Everyone acts like Cotto never outboxed Margarito that night...the simple fact of the matter is that Cotto DID outbox Margarito nearly the entire fight. Remember, Cotto didn't get stopped until the ELEVENTH ROUND!!! He only had one round to go to get out of there, and I truly think that if it had gone to the cards he would've gotten the decision. He DID outbox Margarito that night, but he just ran out of gas two rounds too early. I give Cotto a better shot than most at beating Margarito the second time around, but I think "going to war" with Margarito is going to be a losing battle every time for Cotto. How do you bust up a guy that has a granite chin like Margo? Cotto can't, and I don't think anyone in the welterweight division can for that matter...

Because he didn't want to get hit by Margarito.

2 judges had Margo winning and the other had it tied when the fight was stopped.

hardly anyone is saying that Cotto didnt outbox Margarito. thing is, it only made a difference for the first 4 rounds and maybe one after that.

If Cotto clinches more and gets out of the ropes more effectively, he wins the fight

Clinch, go to the body, and do the same thing he did in the first fight. Just adding those 2 things I think he could win. Besides, we know Marg has a great chin, but what's his body like?

    No, it wasn't working.

Everytime Cotto backed up he took a big risk of getting hit with a long right hand. And in the second round one bounced off his nose and broke it. He also ate alot of body shots early in the second round and other rounds that seemingly were ignored on here.

So sure it looked as though it was working but anyone who knows what they were watching were watching Tony slowly but surely getting to Cotto. From round 2 on. The pressure, the punches getting through, etc. It was all working to the favor of Margarito even though he was dropping some rounds. He was winning the war.
