Thats good. Considering who the two fighters are, and the rivalary between Mexican and PRs.

They barely did better than Baldomir-Mayweather

Mayweather-Baldomir did roughly anywhere from 30k-60k less than Margo-Cotto.

Try 800k vs Hatton and record breaking numbers vs DLH. This doesn't even make Mayweather blink, he made something close to that fighting Baldomir.

Not calling you a liar but I'll need to look into it, 280k is **** poor compared to what Vargas/Mosley 1 made.

    360-375 I think is what Mosley-Cotto did.

Imagine if they had a 24/7 series and was really promoted. Not too mention the fight was way better than any other Mayweather fights. :bbb

Mayweather vs. Baldomir only reached 325K PPV buys which is not bad in itself but certainly nothing to write home about either.

They didn't do it for a reason and that reason is that they know that for a fight like this it's not worth a 24/7 regardless of how the fight turned out to be. I think they do those for fights they think are worth them and neither Cotto nor Margarito can be compared to Mayweather's, DLH's and Hatton's popularity.

Still the fights he had after the Baldomir fight made really big impressive numbers, that means people leaving the arena before the fight ended never affected him.

I think Arum is telling the truth...

Bert Sugar’s Ringside View of Margarito vs. Cotto

"Whereas Pacquiao-Diaz did under 200,000 (Pay-per-view buys), this did over 425,000 - one of the biggest fights. And they were right on buying it. People were calling this fight the Fight of the Decade.
