Cotto vs Margarito: by a hair or total destruction?

I think somewhere in between, leaning towards the Cotto by destruction end of the spectrum. I see him winning a decision, something like 117-111

I would be totally surprised if Cotto easily destroyed Margarito. Margarito is one very tough S.O.B., and Cotto is going to have to be at his very best to defeat Margarito. However, there is one small possibility that very few have mentioned. Margarito seems to cut very easily, and if I remember correctly, he was cut in the Cintron II fight. That makes the fight being stopped on cuts very possible. Anyhow, if Margarito's skin holds up, I'll take him by TKO over Cotto in 11.

 

I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure Cintron was the one cut.

 

As cardstars says, somewhere in between. Cotto TKO mid-late rounds though.

 

i've voted cotto by a hair but i believe cotto is a bigger and better puncher (those body shots are going to hurt), and he's more technically sound.

but - even though cotto's matured a lot and come a long way since the torres fight it's hard to shake that fight from memory.

if someone is going to make him relive that nightmare then margarito is the man to do it.

i'll stcik with cotto however. really looking forward to this one. how can you not?

I think it's going to be a tough close fight. Don't get me wrong, Cotto will win purely on his superior skill but Margarito is a tough SOB and I don't think there's someone @ww that can actually "slaughter" him. I'm a huge Cotto fan so hopefully I'm wrong and Cotto destroys AM.:good

 

Uppercut's will be they key for Margo if he land's Cotto will fall.

 

i dont think ANYONE can destroy margarito. the man is a piece of iron.

but im really curious how cotto is gonna fight margo. cause the smart way would be to BOX him..........use his superior jab and variety as well as his speed.

but since this is a puerto rico/mexico showdown between to hotblooded latins..........cotto may be lured into rumbeling with margo.

and thats where he would walk into trouble.........
