You mean like when he was drying out to make 140 and coming in heavier than his opponents come fight night? Typical ****ing excuses from clueless fans.

Exactly, Cotto came in at 157 for a 140 fight against Corley, who came in at 141 fight night.

talking about PAPER CHAMP, Cotto has made a living picking up vacant titles with the help of Papa Arum.

The only fighter he won against current title holder was Foreman, the ever dangerous FOREMAN!!!

Speaking specifically about July, Kizer said, representatives from the Cotto camp were in Margarito's dressing room during the entire wrapping of the hands. "They were in there from the beginning," Kizer said. "Not only them but people from HBO, people from MGM, there are always a dozen or so people in the dressing room.

So....that only implies that Cotto's camp were naive and not vigilant!

The officials were in Margarita's dressing room against Mosley as well and the only one who caught the dirty ******* was Naziim!!!

Why? because he knew Margarita was a dirty ******* and kept a keen eye on the rat!!!

Cotto will pulverize the rat in Dec!!!

hahaha WTF, I think another half pound lower would drain Margo just enough to maybe pull out a win. But nah, Margo still spanks his ass.

Just enjoy the fight gents.....it's a fight that will rival the first meeting so why are we all bellying aching over a pound? Catch weights are what they are and they are threaded throughout the history of the sport. Deal with it... If it helps get fights done....who gives a ****?

The stupidity and abuse of them.

1 pound is no big deal, and that makes it that much more pathetic.

Catch weights are a way of bullying and cheating. The fighter who generates the most money dictates what unfair advantages he will require against someone. You think thats fair?? If two men are fighting, why not fight at their best, instead of trying to get an advnatge over the other, especially when their is a title in the line.

It was Hopkins' idea...And DLH fought Sturm at 160, and we all saw that he did not by any means belong at 160.

DLH was way small for 160.
DLH was not effective vs an avg. fighter in Sturm at 160, mainly because of size.
Hopkins is a natural Lt. HW shrinking down to 160.

Of course it made sense for Hopkins who was desperate to fight DLH to come down 4 pounds.

It's not like Cotto who has fought effectivel at 154, wanting a catchweight.

I have no problems with Catch weights especially when it allows fighters from different weight classes even up the playing field. Cotto should fight Marg at 154 b/c he's been at that weight for a while now. HE's acclimated to the new division and he's a champion but again....it's all about boxing polotics. And I'm all for this rematch given the history.

I don't think catch weights are a way of bullying and cheating at all. If anything it's cheating that ANY larger man fights men smaller than them. But the "smaller" men are considered "special" and has the ability to compete with larger men.

You ask why they don't fight "at their best"....well... USUALLY with catch weights it's fighters from two seperate divisions. Which means depending on which division they fight in...ONE man is going to be fighting at a weight he's not comfortable at.

Hence....the "catch weights"....it allows two men from seperate weight classes to meet at an agreed upon weight where the field is even.

:patsch Buuuuuuull****!! Yeah, Hopkins, who holds no cards, dictated the weight. You painted yourself into a corner with you comments. All the rest of what you wrote, just you scrambling to justify it for YOUR FAVE Isal. You thinking Hopkins is a natural Lt HW (because that's what he debuted at right? ), means nothing.

Point is, DLH did what you are bitching about, but it was OK for goldy. Pretty much kills all you have to say about this.
