No freddy... dont root against miguel... he is the future of boxing and if he gets set back by margarito it has a bigger effect then if margarito gets beat by cotto, thats more buisness as usual, what i mean by that is cotto has a chance at being something truly special, margarito will always be what he is, a very very very tough underated mexican champion, when he loses, he will be back in the mix in a few fights. Cotto would be the same, but if he loses to margarito... he loses something more, he loses that 'it' that he has around him right now.

Not saying a fighter can never get that back, but it sure is a lot better script at this point if Cotto overcomes margarito in a war of a fight...

To be honest though i think margarito gives cotto all he can handle... anyone who doesnt see that is blind. Cotto through all he had at urkal and urkal would have seen the 12th, margarito is bigger and just as resiliant... he will be there till the end imo unless cotto again shows up an improved and better fighter, which i think he could.

i'm neither puerto rican or mexican and i'm sort of on the same boat, i first saw miguel cotto fighting abdulaev in the amateurs then the first pro fight i saw of his was his 3rd or 4th pro fight, since then i have probably watched almost all his fights, i remember when he became 140 title holder, people were saying he was the weakest of all 4, they all thought even vivian harris would beat him, i thought they're probably right until he beat quintana.

with margarito i have been keepng an eye on him since he fought frankie randall in 98 i think, he was on the undercards of some big fights, a tough relentless warrior.

in the end i'm going to end up going for cotto though, because he is a bad mother.......

****in great fight. im picking Cotto as i think he can go onto to be something special in boxing, he has all the tools - I also wanna see the super fight with Mayweather. however Margarito has all the punch and style to give Cotto problems, he also hits hard enought o stop him imo.

    Still, Cotto on pts.

I hope cotto wins in a castillo corales like fight.

It would set up mayweather cotto as a BIG fight, even bigger them mayweather delahoya or delahoya trinidad. a fight were the whole world would be talking about and a fight that will deliver the expectations. It would bring the winner to all time greatness

Ha ha, was thinking same thing. But in importance this fight comes down to what that fight came down to (except of course both fighters were undefeated then). Who will rule the welterweight.:good

I've been through those dilemmas for different reasons. I'm similarly frustrated with Cal vs Hop's:-(

Cotto? Great BOXER and he has power to boot. He's behaving like a Champion. Disagree on the Chavez comparison. Cotto's technical's are above Chavez's IMO. Chavez walked through the walls and hit back to the very end. True Mexican LEGEND:good

Marg? Ahhh... the Mexican Pride. I can understand it. He again will walk through walls and is a BIG WW. His problem? He can be out boxed and it will happen again.

IMO Cotto will win a decision. Margarito will fight a valiant fight but not win.
