Cotto vs Margarito scoring.

My take is that Cotto wasn't dominating anything. Well, his face was dominating Margo's gloves. 6-4 Margarito. Cotto was landing some nice shots, but they had zero effect on Margo. Margo kept marching foward and pounding Cotto's skull and body. Cotto was reduced to running for his life. Cotto controlled round 1, lost round 2, won 3,4, and 5, and then lost the rest of the rounds.

 

i actually had cotto slightly ahead of margarito by a point prior to the stoppage.

 

I had it even.

 

I gave Cotto 5 of the first 6 rounds (the 2nd going to Margarito) and I think I gave him one more round after that. 6-4 Cotto.

I was really drunk when I watched it live though, and didn't re-score it.

 

I remember thinking Cotto was winning handily on points after 6, however, I knew he was losing the fight and was being ground down. After the 6 it was Margo's. 6-4 or 5-5 would be about right, though I would need to watch it again.

 

A cheat he may be, but he won me £500 on the Cotto fight so I can't hate him too much

 

My score is around here somewhere. It was very close at that time, though around I think Round 7 it became clear to me that Cotto would be trying to just last until the final bell.

 

In the fight Cotto landed some solid shots while Margarito slowly destroyed him. IN this fight none of Margarito's blows looked impressive. I had Cotto up by about 2-3 until the final round.

I don't think he was ever the same after the fight though.
