It appears that there are still alot more ticket available and there not selling as well as some predicted they would.

It appears that the casual boxing fan and the economy, could possible put a dent in one of the biggest fights this summer.

yup. this is the kind of fight hbo should be investing a 24/7 series in.

Funny. In 2006, Floyd couldn't sell 10,000 tickets in Vegas himself, a place where he's resided for over a decade. It's not a coincidence he did big numbers fighting the two biggest draws in boxing along with the help of extensive promotion and 4 part reality series. Who wouldn't? Floyd using Cotto or Margarito's "lack of drawing power" is only acknowledging he needs a strong b-side to produce big numbers. In other words, Cotto and Margarito are not big enough for him to piggyback just yet, like he's done Oscar and Hatton in his last two fights.

15k showed up for the Judah fight, which was in 2006. I believe he had two ppv's that year. Do you remember what the numbers were for those fights? And how the hell did Mayweather piggyback Hatton? That fight did 850k in America. That's a record for a fight not involving Hoya or a HW. Hatton has never fought on American ppv, and none of his 3 previous fights(all in the U.S) were even close to selling out. Hatton has very little in terms of a U.S fanbase.

I dont know. Personally, I get tired of hearing people like FLoyd and Zab talk ****. They are quite corny if you ask me. I prefer the type of fighter who talks professionally. I dont mind trash talk, but FLoyd goes overboard b/c he tries too damn hard to be gangsta.

Margarito and Cotto's personalities are fine if you ask me.

The fact that tickets arent selling is mostly due to poor promoting and not so much their personalities. Like someone said earlier, this fight deserves a 24/7 (at least 2 or 3 episodes) just as much as any other fight has, if not more if you consider the long competition between Mexico and Puerto Rico. That rivalry alone should warrant a 24/7 series, especially with the 2 nations' biggest stars.

Speaking of Floyd's drawing power. I dont deny he has a little, but he did piggyback a little. You cant deny that.

Even if his drawing power is good, how many big time fighters have had celebrities walk out on them during a fight???

i dont know if i'd blame it much on the economy. it's that people dont know marg and cotto the way they know floyd, hatton, & dlh. the fight isnt getting the hype it should be getting.

ii'm just hoping that when I watch sportscenter, espn's 1st take (1st and 10), around the horn, and PTI on friday that they give the fight at least 1 minute of exposure. I know Kevin Blackistone would if he is on PTI.

With all the **** Arum was talking about his fighters , you would have thought he would have promoted this fight a bit more then what he has .

I agree with you about the economy, during time of recession people seem to spend more time entertaining them selves to forget there problems.

It should also be noted that Cotto doesn't have the same kind of following in Vegas tht he does in NY/NJ.
