I thought his stamina ran out, but read about his nose problem on ESB from round 2 onwards. He needs to do something better because I always think a determined and motivated "Tijuana Tornado" always prevails. But I'd like to see Cotto win, though Margarito is sort of like what boxing should be all about (toughness etc...)

How cute...the noob already caught on with the :hi: comeback...

He paused in his tracks a number of times...he never stumbled or stopped, but those pauses were subtle signs of being hurt. Pausing would mean you have to sort of shake off the damage or hit you took to the head. But I wouldn't expect someone who's never boxed a day in their life to know this :hi:

Was he HURT? Not really...was he in trouble? Yes...but not to a great effect. Again...I think he needs to go after the body seeing as his head is made of stone

My bad...skimmed through it too fast...I'm at work and all the executives are lose in the front desk...so I had to be somewhat brief about reading and responding. trying not to get caught on ESB :yep

If Margarito was in trouble how was he able to turn the tables on Cotto so quickly?

I stand by my opinion that Margarito was never in trouble although Cotto dominated the first half of the fight.

I wasn't using the emoticon against you....I'm not looking for a war of words lol. I'm just a guy who has been watching boxing for half a year and I give my opinion. Obviously it's not an experienced opinion and I hope to learn from chatting on these forums.

Well I apologize for the harsh insults...

And yes...You'll be amazed about the number of stuff you pick up about boxing. Not only about boxing, but about casing a full argument. Your level of debating goes up rather soundly and quickly if you stay here long enough.

And if he dominated through the first half of the fight...I wouldn't say that he turned the tables on him so quickly.

I actually find it funny how Cotto turned the tables on Margo in round 9, after nearly tasting canvas and being as badly hurt as he was.

But I guess your point is valid although I don't agree...but one thing is for sure

I CANT WAIT FOR THE REMATCH!! :happy:good:bbb

Don't worry man...just youtube some classics for a start. You'll find many threads and posts about boxers from the 80's and early 90's (Duran, Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Whittiker) Theyre great to watch as well...many many classics!

Gatti vs. Ward was a downright SLUGFEST!:bbb

And always keep up with negotiation talks because people bring that sorta **** up all the time...I've been a boxing fan since I was 7 and never gave a horse **** about money deals...You'll be surprised at the number of excuses as to why the best fighters don't fight each other because of the money deals...So just keep up with that kinda **** to fully load up your arguing fodder :good

cotto did everything right except he put in no body work. that included he should have atleast slowed down the pace of the fight enough to finish and not have to fight out of his comfort zone.

Cotto's defense needs an extreme amount of work if they rematch. He got hit way too many times, partly because he was expending too much energy being aggressive while on the ropes. He should have been moving more and boxing him more instead of planting his feet.

I have to agree. Cotto could have saved himself alot of damage and alot of wasted energy by cutting out some of those combinations and hard power punches, and just sliding out on all those occasions. He still would have won the rounds. He was piling up points like crazy.
