He would. Margarito has never fought a big name aside Cotto who is a regional name, and look how popular he is getting.

Had Margarito had the privilage of fighting Gatti, Hatton, DLH, and Judah, we all know he would have won and his populairty would be greater than Floyd.

Margarito is a very likeable guy who goes in the ring to throw down.

PBF is an annoying wannabe thug who goes in the ring to win safest way possible.

Who do you think the mainstream rather watch?

Margo is ONLY known in the boxing world. Ppl that dont watch boxing know of PBF, just like DLH, and they automatically think PBF & DLH are two of the best fighters out there because those are the names they hear alot & the only names they really know. Margo doesnt speak english & its very hard to get in the mainstream if you dont even speak the laguage. Trinidad did it, and no one has done it like him since. Most ppl have only seen 1 or 2 of Margo's fights at the most. Get real, PBF will always be more popular than AM.

Dude, slow down and listen. PBF IS more popular than Margarito, BUT Margarito has the potential to be more popular easy.

The reason that PBF IS more popular is because he had the oppurtunity to fight BIG NAMES, Arturo Gatti catapulting PBF into the mainstream. Fighting Zab Judah, DLH, and Ricky gave PBF a lot of attention, WHY? Because All those four fighters brought a lot of their fans and many casual fans to watch the fight.

Had Margarito been given the oppurtunity to fight Zab Judah, Arturo Gatti, Ricky Hatton, and Oscar De La Hoya, he would undoubtedly have beat every single one, and based on his rugged, and brawling style would have turned more heads than the pot shot and win Mayweather turned.

    It's all I'm saying.

SSM will give him a bigger fan base. Beating Cotto again isn't gonna bring him much more fans, the only thing he can do after SSM is Pwill.

Margarito is running out of options as he is cleaning out the division real good. After Mosley, he can crack Judah's chin for a decent pay day, and maybe PBF might want to prove himself and fight Margarito. If PW ever decides to come down to 147, then you have the rematch.

First of all, PW has always been willing to come down to 147. Second, everyone will give AM hell for fighting Judah. 3rd, its gonna take more than a Judah win to convince PBF to consider fighting AM instead of fighting Pac. Third, Mosley still has to deal with Clottey, and we seen what CLottey did to AM for the first 4 rounds. Fourth, there's many options for him out there. He's big enough to compete with guys at 154, even some of the dudes at 160. Fifth point, as long as Williams is still fighting, he's never gonna be known as the man in any dividion until he beats PW

The PW rematch is something I'd like to see. I had the fight for Margarito, but I can see how it could be scored for PW.

Not if he says it's a tune-up fight. I mean, PBF fought him after he lost to Baldo.

Well, Margarito isn't going anywhere. If Pac manages to get by Hatton, and fights and loses to PBF, I'm sure Margarito will not be retired or anything. If PBF wants to prove he is the best, surely he needs to fight someone who is the best.

What you mean Mosley needs to deal with Clottey, please elaborate. What do they have to do with Margarito cleaning out the division?

I guess, but he is the Welter weight king. But, yeah, I could see him moving up like Hopkins did, and fighting Spinks, Forrest, Santos, all very winnable fights for him.

Infact I had him up on the cards before the hometown decision in Puerto Rico.

That's bull. This part shows me you're a hater. So anyone that ever loses and doesn't avenge his loss has never gone on to become the man??

I don't think so buddy mc girt.

There are weight divisions in boxing. Key word Divisions.

I meany to say Margo still will have to deal with Clottey, not Mosely. You seen what CLottey was doing to AM for the first rounds.

Also, the reason why he will never be the man in any division is because AM is always gonna be in a weight class that PW is willing to fight him at, and until AM avenges that loss, PW will always have his number.

Very tough fight to pick. I want to see Cotto fight someone else and see how he looks first. I see that the poll is currently 50-49. I think it is a pretty even fight. I wonder if Cotto can mentally be ready for Margo because I see it being a tough fight even if he does manage to win.

Margarito is a slow starter, it is well documented. What else was well documented was Margarito's severe spraingned ankle a week before the fight, and his shoulder problems. So a AM that was clearly NOT 100% beat a Clottey that came in 100%, Clottey then injured his left hand by not punching right, and was dominated by an unhealthy AM.

I've seen TKO's losess to fighters who twist or injure their ankles or arms during a fight.

just did, and whether margo was 100% is a myth.

clotteys injury on the other hand was quite obviousduring the fight. josh was beating margo to the punch till he stopped throwing.

dont get me wrong, i knew clottey would gas and i'm taking anything away from the tijuana tornado but i'd still love to see a rematch.
