nobody ever hit floyd as much as cotto and nobody made floyd miss as much as cotto. diaz had cotto fighting off the front foot using blocking. now he's back to sitting on the back foot and using head movement. i like the rematch. i think it will be more difficult for floyd this time around...even with his pops in the corner.
No. Mayweather is at the point in his career where he needs to fight different fighters and not waste time with rematches to a fight where his opponent only won 3 rounds.
This. And if not, the fight I'd most like to see is Mayweather-Martinez for the lineal MW title. Mayweather-Pacquiao would be a bigger event for sure, but I don't see anyone below 160 having any more than a puncher's chance against Floyd.
Would love to see this fight simply for the rematch factor, and the first fight was very entertaining. I mean how often does Mayweather rematch an opponent, that factor alone is sellable.
So a fight with Khan or Paulie is more enticing than a rematch with someone who gave him fits? If not a Cotto rematch who would you like to see him fight?
Cotto won 5 rds the first time...with that garbage ass trainer pedro diaz. A new aggressive cotto, who comes ripping away with body shots and combos behind that jab is tantalizing. Freddie Roach makes all the difference here. this fight is faaaar from ideal...but it beats the **** out of Khan or Maidana. If floyd really had a brain or balls he would call out Sergio Martinez if the martinez v cotto fight falls thorugh.
Cottos last big win was Mosley. The only non vacant title he won was defended against guys who had no business fighting for a title...with one being at a catchweight.
