People are not giving Cotto enough credit here. His only losses came at the hands of a weight-draining roid rat and a plaster-handed pirate zombie. He's not the fighter he was mentally pre-2007 but he has shown in recent performances why he is still one of the elites of the sport.
your OP sucked and was all over the place. Yeah we are all going to watch and enjoy Mayweather do work and Cotto is good enough to make mayweather show his vast array of skills so whats the point of this thread?
Cotto says he is better. Who is saying Cotto is not elite? He is an elite fighter people are just saying he is not on Mayweathers level
Ok I see, now I understand. Mayweathers nutsack down your throat and sperm residuals on your face have clearly glued your eyes closed and made it difficult for you to read and comprehend. Seriously, it was a friendly discussion, you seem to be the only one having trouble comprehending. If you can't accept the fact that other people think Mayweather is not the only boxer in the sport, then maybe you should go find a Floyd Mayweather only forum. If this thread has no point, by all means, stop reading or replying, those of us left won't miss you.
what with all the gay ****?. Why would I think Mayweather is the only fighter in the sport he is fighting Cotto right?
Since my OP sucked, but yet every time you post you prove my point even more, I can only assume you don't understand the topic. You seem to be one of the people who won't give any Mayweather opponent a fair shake. Using your "unbiased" way of thinking, we should just go ahead and give the automatic victory to Mayweather before he steps in the ring. Once again, for your benefit and your benefit only, let's not discredit any, I say again, underlined and capitalized, ANY world class proven fighter before they step in the ring. If they are in the ring for a fight of this magnitude, regardless of who they are facing it's because they have earned it and payed their dues along the way. It's disrespectful to the rest or the fans, the fighters themselves and all the greats before them who paved the way and made boxing what it is today. Boxings' history is not full of undefeated fighters who won every fight they were in, it's full of all time greats who carried a loss as proudly as they carried a victory, greats who stepped in the ring against all odds and against all comers, greats who left it all in the ring for our entertainment. Not so that we can boast about how badly they will beat any opponent as if somehow we had done it ourselves.
I think Cotto is a pretty damn good fighter how is that not giving him his fair shake? **** I go as far as to say Cotto doesn't have a real loss and Cotto is a future hall of famer. Cotto deserves this fight I never said he didn't. I am also very excited to see the fight. That being said Mayweather is going to kick Cottos ass and should be applauded for beating the **** out of such a good fighter as Cotto. Mayweather is not these other fighters of the past "there is only one ". I am going to enjoy him why he is still putting on great performances against good and great fighters.
I'm sorry, but Cotto lost to Clottey (although Cotto got the gift decision) and Pacquiao (Cotto's fault for having a **** corner and taking the fight at the catch weight) legitimately.
Clottey vs Cotto was a close fight. The Manny **** not only was it a catch weight but ole boy is afraid of needles now
I just watched that Clottey fight again, and Clottey was putting an ass whooping on him. Full fight here: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugK1SG2-fVk[/ame] The shots he was getting hit with, straight right leads, left jabs and hooks, do not bode well for Cotto is this particular fight with Mayweather.
