:deal I don't know what some people were watching but i saw not far from a ****ing shut out. It was one of those typical mayweather fights where you lose all hope of drama and anything unusally competitive happening when you realise that after 5 rounds he hasn't lost one or even looked anything remotely like he might lose one. The opponent is locked into a montomous outclassing session which he can't do a thing about. Cotto won 2 maybe 3 rounds at very best
atsch...Cotto was not sucked into any traps??..what fight were you watching?..I watched Floyd fake a jab then throw the right hook/over NUMEROUS times landing flush on the jaw.Is that not a simple trap?lol Ill agree with the Floyd bit though,I also felt he could of stopped him had he continued at that pace.
I gave Cotto 4 rounds. 2, 5, ,6, and 9. Cotto impressed the hell out of me last night. His trainer is the truth and after getting the Margacheato brick thing behind him, he looks like a new fighter. I gave him 4 (arguably 5) rounds which is much more than I have given any recent fighter against Money Mayweather. Cotto's determination and unwillingness to back down was amazing! Cotto's jab was great, his work rate was awesome but he wasn't able to land any clean power shots. Floyd impressed me as well by gritting out a relatively ugly fight. He stood and traded with Cotto a lot more than I anticipated and it was cool to see. You've got to give Mayweather credit for fighting Cotto at Cotto's best. Manny fought him coming off a devastating loss and at a catchweight. Cotto also had a clown as a trainer leading up to the Manny fight, and was at a huge disadvantage. Mayweather fought the new and improved Cotto and he tagged him with clean counters all night long.
I had it 116-112 for Floyd. I think 117-111 is fair, 118-110 is favoring Floyd a little too much. I don't know some people here are calling it a masterclass for Floyd. He was forced into fighting Cotto's fight and threw way more punches than he normally does and actually looked a little fatigued at certain points in the fight. Competitive fight, but definitely a clear victory for Money May. Props to him.
I know some will argue, but I had it 115-113, Mayweather. I gave Cotto a close round 3 (despite what Compubox said) and I think it was round 10? It was the slow round where Cotto was credited with 5 punches I think and Floyd with 6. Something like that. Anyone who gave Cotto less than 3 rounds is a ******. He won at least 3, max 5, 4 is the median.
