I actually would like to see cotto vs mayweather i think it would be a good

fighter, not a classic or anything but the ortiz was just to easy for money.

and while i think mayweather the clear favorite but it wouldnt be easy

Cotto showed that he has some good tools he can use against Floyd Mayweather which makes the fight interesting. Over the weekend he showed a monster jab, which is probably a necessity against Floyd (otherwise you get pull countered), and excellent combination punching (so you actually land one of them against Floyd). That and Cotto is big and strong. I'd love to see it.

Miguel Cotto is a light middleweight folks, Floyd Mayweather is currently a Welterweight and he hasn't done much there yet.

I would like to see Cotto fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, They are both Top Rank fighters so that fight will be easier to make and Bob can keep the money in house like he has done in the past.

Why the hell is this your reasoning for not wanting to see Cotto vs PBF, you want Bob Arum to have more money??!?? :huh:huh:huh:huh:huh:huh

Outside Pac & Martinez, Cotto is the next best challenge for PBF. Definitely better than Khan, PBF knocks Khan out.

Another thing, Cotto would be the best fighter PBF would have ever fought.

He's better than Ortiz in every single aspect.
He's better than the past it ODLH, and ODLH troubled Floyd with the jab, IMO Cotto's is better at this stage.
He's better than the fat version of JMM who thought he would just put on fat to go up weight.
    He's better than Hatton/Corrales/Castillo.

If anything, Cotto would bring the jab of ODLH, the bodypunching of Castillo and his ability to cut the ring off.

Really, if you would NOT want to see Cotto vs. Mayweather, there is sersiously something wrong with you. You don't have to be a huge fan of either to see this making sense. And your opinion of it being AWFUL:patsch just shows what a stupid little kid you are. Welcome to ignore *******. :thumbsup

Cotto is a terrible mismatch..... only good fights for Floyd are Manny, Sergio and Khan..... Cotto should fight Canelo or the Ortiz vs Berto winner. Cotto just isn't elite level, Mayweather would get zero credit for this win..... they'd just say Cotto's shot and he already lost to Pac.

I'm surprised there's this much interest in this fight. Besides the money, there's not much for Mayweather to gain out of this fight at this time. However, it would be an entertaining fight. So if the fans want to see it, it's worth making.

Well the ball is in Cotto's court right now in regards to getting the Mayweather fight. He bails to GBP or goes solo, the fight would be made in a less than a week.

I never said that I don't want to see PBF vs Cotto. I believe it's a mismatch in my opinion. It might be a competitive fight the first four or five rounds but then Mayweather will take over. Mayweather has more skill then Cotto does for Mayweather have the fight on PR independance day and he will make over a Million buys easy but that is pretty much all he would gain in this fight. Pacquaio beat Cotto pretty bad as well as Margs so If PBF vs Pac doesn't get made Cotto should avenge his loss with Pac or in my opinion a fight with JCCjr would be an interesting fight. Bob Arum seems like he doesn't like to have his top rank fighters fight other fighters outside of his company that is why I said the fight between Cotto and Chavez would be easier to be made because they are with the same promotional company? Understand?

You are wrong on so many levels......

Cotto is /was nothing special. Fact. He is a shopworn HBO hype, similar to Michael Grant and Arreiola.

He is slow, has and always had a shakey chin, gets tired towards the end of a fight, is a total sucker for the uppercut, you cannot miss him if you tried, has average punching power, decent jab, ok footwork but very leaky defense.............

Would I watch it, sure and I don't have a problem if the fight gets made because Pac chickens out but competitive it will not be, guaranteed, as a matter of fact he will not last the distance.

I wouldnt mind seeing this fight...but Cotto is not extremely relevant as he once was....so i mean a fight with Floyd would just be basicly entertainment and possibly some solid money for Floyd but it does nothing for the boxing landscape unless Cotto upsets Floyd which i think i have a better chance at winning the mega millions lotto than that happening.

if it were to happen though...i'd certainly watch...i think Cotto is more experienced now and has dveloped maybe some new wrinkles...but there was never a point where i thought he could beat Floyd always felt he was a pretty easy night for Floyd.

He is a great body puncher if he can get that close which i doubt considering how slow he closes and his footwork is decent at best.

He also has a very good jab but if u dont see Floyd using a pull counter to negate that all night then i dont know what to tell you.

After his best assets get negated...how would he win?

He certainly can't outbox Floyd and he doesnt have one punch KO power.
