I wish he would have never fought Margarito! No one would fight him at the time, and Floyd retired! I think that fight took too much out of him.

Cotto would never beat Mayweather. He didn't have the speed, skills, power, or overall physical talent to even compete with Floyd. Mayweather's much faster, much more skilled, more athletic, and a lot smarter than Cotto. Miguel couldn't figure out a game plan to stop Margarito from hitting him and got beat up because of that. He didn't have enough sense to stay off the ropes against Margarito, but you expect him to out box Floyd?

I dont think so. And this was back when Floyd would just rehydrate just a few pounds over 147. I think the physical advantages would have gone to Cotto.

Cotto was such an EASY fight the Floyd felt the need to RETIRE! So if he was that easy why didnt Floyd take an easy payday beating an undefeated top fighter?

It amazes me that you think Cotto is bigger and I'm wrong in saying the opposite. Cotto is small dude, he's 5'7" with stubby arms 67" reach, while he is more filled out, he is the same height and reach as JMM and we saw that size discrepancy when Floyd fought him. While Floyd is 5'8" with a 72" reach.

And to those who are saying Cotto is stronger, what makes you think that?

People just think of Floyd as small and weak because of his style.

Mosley is not Floyd. Plus, a lot people thought Mosley won.

Height wise and reachwise yeah Floyd is bigger but Cotto is bigger builtwise (dont know how to explain).

I also believe Cotto is the stronger fighter. Mayweather is the more accurate precise puncher and with his speed it increases the damage. Strengthwise i think Cotto is stronger.

all that fight resembled was the younger fighter having more in his tank that night besides it being close. Mosley has always had more skills than Cotto which is why he's still fighting to this day. Cotto will be done after this year.

I understand that, but I'm just not sure i agree with you. How is Cotto gonna impose that strentgh or utilize that "size"? he is not stronger then Mayweather in the clinch, no way....and he doesn't even clinch anyway. So the 2 aspects of "Size" that will matter in this fight IS height and definitely Reach, and in those two aspects he is the smaller man. :good

You are entitled to your opinoin about strength, I admit I have NO way of measuring that. It's just that Cotto didn't look too strong against Shane, Clottey, Margo or Pac....he looked "slick" but not close to as "slick" as Floyd.

Your right about the clinch. Since Cotto doesnt clinch he wont be able to impose the physical advantages i believe he has. But Mosley had a bigger reach and height and he was able to use his jab effectively (I KNOW MOSLEY IS NOT MAYWEATHER but its an example).

We cant measure strength but i do remember Shane saying Cotto is as "strong as a bull" and that its deceptive. Clottey also said he was stronger than he thought.
