I said it before and still say it, Mayweather by close but clear UD. The victory would be similar to Cotto's victory over Mosley in terms of being "close but clear" NOT in terms of style. A tough fight where it's obvious Mayweather is losing early only to squeeze in a few rounds from round 4 onwards and have 50/50 rounds late. Easy win?, **** no. If Hatton seemed to be tough early then Cotto is on another level completely, Cotto actually has decent defense, decent movement, speed and serious power. He can fight defensive or going back if he needs to, Hatton just fights one way and if you hurt him early that means a KO is incoming but who can hurt him and do what Pac did to him?, requires an ATG like Pac to make another strong/tough opponent look bad. Foreman/Frazier is a good example or Foreman/Norton.

Mayweather all day long, anyone that seriously thinks Cotto has anything other than an outside freak shot of victory doesnt have a clue about boxing art.

FMJ doesnt throw enough combinations to get Cotto out of there - not saying he COULDNT KO Cotto but my money would say FMJ by UD, a clear one at that.

The punch accuracy & speed would see Cotto sliced up throughout, his slow ass punches would be seen a mile off & he would be hitting nothing but air against one of the best defensive specialists of all time, certainly of this era.

Simply put, no version of Cotto has ever looked to be near the level of any version of Mayweather & that is the basic fact of it all.

Same. But i dont think he would be as impressive as Pac was last night.

Mayweather would beat him to a clear UD. He probably wouldnt of battered Cotto like Pac did, but im sure he would of done a great job as well.

Pac wins fights with his explosive attacking arsenal while Mayweather wins fights with his explosive defensive arsenal.

this why i believe most people would agree.....look at who they fought at WW and tell me who wins

    PAC vs JMM @ 145
    Clottey vs Hatton
    Mosley vs DLH
    Margo vs BALDO
Cotto's win over Zab vs Floyd's

Cotto's been in the tougher fights, so of course Floyd would "appear" more dominant. and yet Floyd would 'slice him up'? based off of what? who did he do that too at WW?

the answer to that is NOONE, and he's yet to fight any1 at WW as good as Cotto....and thats a fact
