I remember seeing this fight and I cant help notice the help Cotto received from the ref when Sugar laid a big right hand on Cotto. This should have been brought up just as much as Hatton's shoelace incident. After this incident Cotto got on his bicycle for the last rounds. All I have to say is that Cotto can run all he wants but on July 26 theres nowhere to hide from the Tijuana Tornado! http://youtube.com/watch?v=vAytkiq5_RU 40 secs into the fight.
Yeah I did think that was a bit strange that the ref did that. But there shouldn't be any excuses Cotto beat Mosley fair and square, and i'm a huge Mosley fan.
That was a good right hand, but wether that effected him they way the announcers had it is highly debatable. Rather than getting on his bicycle as you say to me it looked like he was standing still ready to counter at least inintially. Cotto bounces off the ropes in the NDou fight and the abdulaev fight.
Mosley is the one who pretty much forced the ref to stop the fight to clean the mess on the floor. Look at how Mosley looks at the ref after he slips when Cotto is in the corner and Mosley throws a jab at him he almost falls down.
Cotto got some clean shots fighting backwards I gotta admit the guy can do it all but Margo is also great fighting guys that do the in and out technique just watch this vid. This guy gets totally manhandled. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_uQLwuTeOQ&feature=related
Yep, it was Mosley slipping on the wetspot that caused the ref to stop the action. When Lampley said "Cotto staggering!" Cotto was just slipping on the wetspot a beat before Mosley stepped on it.
Mosley got into his game too late just like Marg against Williams. Blaming it on the referee is just silly.
the day after cotto margarito is gonna be a sad day ...biggest evacuations of fan bases in the history of boxing... margaritos fan base is gonna be history
cotto was about to be knocked out cold and should have given mosley a rematch rather than fighting gomez.
