I'm a Mosley fan, and I think Cotto is going to cause Mosley all sorts of problems. In the end, I think Mosley can pull it off, but it's going to take one hell of an effort. This is a huge fight for Mosley in terms of legacy. A win over Cotto can do quite a bit for his reputation. Anything can happen in this one. We're almost guaranteed to see some fireworks.
My biggest concern is that both of these guys are at their best when going forward. Mosley is going to have an extremely difficult time backing Cotto up consistently. I have no doubts that Mosley will start fast and likely take an early-lead. He's a fast starter, and Cotto, not so fast. The key will be how Mosley reacts after Cotto finds is groove. If Mosley can make counter-adjustments, he can win. Oftentimes, however, he falls into a gun-shy shell. If Cotto gets him in that shell, it's going to be a long fight for Mosley.
It seems its official, boxrec.com has the fight schedule and they pretty good when it comes to announcing fights... mosley wanted mayweather, but mayweather is schedule on fighting hatton, margarito vs cotto would not happen because of margaritos lost against williams, so mosley vs cotto fight has been schedule...
I love this fight is on but I hate there has to be a loser. Im picking Cotto, and as much as I adore Sugar, he has done his dash and had a great career. Id rather Cotto go on to the bigger and better things. So I guess Im picking Cotto and supporting him to beat Shane. Cant recall ever doing that for a Shane Mosley fight.
Its going to be dramatic--am going for an early Mosley KO...starts fast, will hurt Cotto in the first, over in the 2nd or 3rd.
And mate boxrec is not good for annoucing fights. When there is even a whisper of a fight an editor rushes to put it on there first. Sometimes guys have 3 fights lined up for the same month, when none have been confirmed. Even boxrec's own editors tell people not to take whats on there as gospel.
So that's what Willis was talkin bout! Mosley will build a early lead and survive the late charge by Cotto to win a close UD.
