I believe that most times Cotto opens up and trade with Pac he will get punished worst than what he's dishing out. Cotto will keep it safe, keep his guard up and pick his spots. Most likely outcome will be Pac by close UD, KO in the 9th if he decides to trade punches.
Look...with Oscar everyone had to eat crow...me included. But I've watched the fight. DLH started off with some snap. He was popping the jab and trying to find the mark but PAC was just too quick and made DLH pay and respect his offense early. Sure DLH wasn't above 147 on fight night.....MOST experts say that is a sign that a figther made weight the CORRECT way. When fighters balloon up 10 or 15 lbs on fight night they say it indicates they didn't loose the weight the proper way in getting ready for the fight. What ever was the reason for DLH loosing at least HALF of that percentage is thanks to PAC. It could be 100% for all anyone knows. It's easy to make excuses for the fallen fighter when you chose to predict the opposite way. But I chose to eat crow and give credit for what actaully took place in the ring. It may not be a stretch to say Cotto is much stronger than a "weight drained" DLH or a 140 lb Ricky. But Ricky for all accts was KNOWN to be a VERY STRONG Jr WW! Cotto was seen as a strong jr WW when he was there and I don't think its a stretch to say PAC has more than a legit chance of beating Cotto. PAC's problem wont' be strength of his oppoents...if anything it will be their physical demenisions like height, reach or range that would give the southpaw problems and Cotto ain't that tall or long. PAC's speed and superior skills will be more than enough to handle Cotto IMHO.
people forget this version of cotto looks like a slick boxer but if u force cotto to brawl he will in that case to much power for manny to handle :deal
Well, in this case most experts would be wrong. According to Freddy Roach Oscar had fresh IV marks on his arm during the staredown, which means Oscar's team attempted to rehydrate him after tipping the scales on fight night. It's not hard to tell. You have an aging fighter coming in at his lightest weight in years, weighing in lower than a fighter who should be campaigning at lightweight, resorting to intravenous rehydration and chewing ice on his way to the ring to replenish himself, and ultimately giving a listless performance. Those are not excuses, those are facts. Manny is the man, no doubt. Definitely in my top five favorite fighters right now. But I honestly feel that lesser fighters than Manny would have disposed of Oscar that night. Maybe not as impressively, though.
Pac will be biting more than he could chew if he fights at 147. I'll say this again . . . a fighter irregardless how good he maybe will always be bounded by physical limitations. 147 is too much for Pac . . . in my opinion . . . so I'll pick Cotto.
