Cotto vs Pacquiao - Guaranteed Prediction

Duh?

You've got JMM and Mayweather Jr - both fighters who know the sweet science, who utilise tactics, strategy and technique over brute power and who look to employ a hit-without-getting-hit strategy.

vs Pacquaio and Cotto - both fighters who have some element of the basics but generally rely on stalking opponents and looking to land power shots.

Of course Pacquaio vs Cotto will be more exciting - but I doubt they'll do the same amount of buys and I seriously doubt either of them will beat Floyd.

Yeah...I think that might be a sfae guarantee. A given, actually. Mayweather-JMM was a dud because Floyd so thoroughly dominated, but even if Pac - and I know this is a long shot - dominates Cotto the way Floyd dominated Juan, this one will STILL be better because everyone expected Mayweather to wipe out JMM, but nobody expects this upcoming fight to be one sided in anyone's favor.

But as far as guarantees go, I'd say win or lose...Cotto will be cut.

This is whats wrong with boxing. Who gives a **** about the ppv buys, who gives a **** about who will beat who in a fantasy matchup? You wont see any of the money they make from PPV and saying Floyd beats Pac is fantasy land stuff as the fight hasnt happened yet.

I swear thats all Floyd fans talk about, how much PPV buys he makes and who he beats in these fantasy matchups...because Floyd wont give them real matchups to get excited about.

Fans care about excitement cos thats what they pay to see...thats whats important.

JMM, Floyd, PAC and Cotto are al fighters who know the sweet sciecne. It's just Floyd isn't a boxers who "fights" to please anyone. He's more concerned about winning and outpointing his opponents till the point of a shut out. He doens't take risks b/c his talent, natural ability and skills allow him to avoid most risky situations.

JMM, Cotto and PAC all know the sweet science and are well schooled to say the very least...they just have a "Warrior's" mentallty while also feeling the obligation to actually "Perform" for the fans. Floyd not so much. He's more worried about winning and winning without risk. Which is why he didn't take JMM out. He could have but wanted to avoid any shot JMM might have had at kanding a KO or hurting Floyd.

Floyd, JMM, PAC and Cotto all employ strategy when in the ring. Floyd's strategy is just saftety first.....JMM, PAC and Cotto throw caution into the wind.......of course Floyd is the more technical boxer out of all of them and JMM following in 2nd but all are very good boxers.

Regarding the PPVs........I can see Cotto vs PAC doing similar numbers and possibly beating Floyds, but I hope not! If PAC beats Cotto and the PPV numbers are better than Floyd vs JMM then it will be nearly impossible to make the PAC vs FLoyd fight b/c PAC will surely ask for the lions share and Floyd's ego wont allow him to play secnd fiddle to Manny.

However....should Flyd vs JMM PPV numbers hold up and beat PAC vs Cotto's PPV numbers I can see the fight with Floyd being more likely b/c PAC won't be as hard to convince of tkaing the smaller slice of the pie if he knows Floyd is the bigger draw.
