From Steve Kim... ----------------- Latest is that now Valero will most likely take on mandatory challenger Antonio Demarco and HSoto will face either David Diaz or Joel Casamayor as he moves up to 135. There was also talk of Jesus Soto-Karass-Alfonso Gomez( but I dont think Gomez's team takes that fight) But this card is still being worked out. ------------------ Also, updates on the next Latin Fury PPV headlined by JuanMa... ------------------ October 10th- Latin Fury is on at the Theater in MSG Juan Ma Lopez vs Rogers Mtagwa( basically done, I'm told) Yuri Gamboa-Whyber Garcia Odlanier Solis-Kevin Johnson Vanes martirosyan-Pawel Wolak
Valero vs. Antonio Demarco Humberto Soto vs. David Diaz or Joel Casamayor Still a very good undercard IMO.... .
I really wanted to see a Valero/Soto fight. If Valero would be able to knock out Soto then we would all know how legit his punching power really is at the world class level.
I remember when Valero was having problems getting cleared to Fight in the US. And if I remember correctly...Only a few US States have actually sanctioned him to Fight (Texas and two others, I think). Personally...I would like to see Valero / Joan Guzman meet at 135lbs. And I would like t see Luis Collazo back in the ring...He was thrown into the fire (Hatton, Mosley & Berto) and on My Card"...he won the Hatton fight...I had Berto winning 114-113. Rumor has it that Collazo vs Spinks are trying to get something done for the Cotto/Pacman undercard. But Spinks says he doesn't want to go back to 147. If they can agree to 154...DONE!!!
Doesn't Valero now only wish to fight in big fights? If so I don't see how a Demarco fight would qualify as such. If he indeed intents on moving forward against his mandatory, I'd rather him do so before November 14th and still fight a name on that date. And btw Roach is pushing for Khan to also appear on the Pac-Cotto undercard. I made a thread. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157978
Superb information thanks buddy :good:good:good Boxing is finally putting a lot of thought into creating a strong boxing card not just a main event !!!!! , im opening myself up for a **** storm here but boxing can thank the UFC into forcing them into a corner on that one . But great news !!!!!
its still a good card but it would be nice for once if these megafights can have just 1 great co-feature fight that could be its own televised main event like valero/soto
