Pac by TKO. Although I would not be surprised if it was the other way around.

You are not alone! Actually......Cotto is a VERY GOOD bigger man. If he can have a close fight with Shane then you gotta be a very solid fighter. Anything can happen and one thing is for sure Cotto and PAC are two of the most exciting fighters today. Fans are the true winners here!

If Cotto is able to pull that off he's gonna be in for some HUGE fights and his Legacy sky rockets UPWARD! That will set up a nice fight with Floyd....or a rematch with Shane but I DOUBT he'll take that one.

hmm says... Let Cotto come in at whatever weight on fight night. With the power he packs he better land them when it counts. Speed Kills!

    Close fight with Shane ?

That sounds as if he lost to SSM, I thought he beat Mosely clearly.

Anyway, staying on thread topic.... this is basically a 50/50 fight for me but I lean towards a Cotto pts win (I know I picked against Pac in his last 2 because of the size difference & was wrong but every fight is different, time will tell)

Just hope its a great fight.

I think that if Cotto can put his jab in Manny's face most of the night and picks his spot to back him up he can be succesful. I also think that he can win of the backfoot and pick his spots.

However, if he lets Pac swarm him it may not fair well for Cotto.

I think that Cotto can take what Pac can dish out unless it's by ridiculous accumulation.

Cotto has been hit by Torres, Clottey, Mosley and Margarito. The only loss was a stoppage loss and that was by Margo which swarmed him. I don't see Pac putting the consistant pressure as Margo. The pressure that Pac asserts is more in spurts than in the constant manner that Margo does. And it took Margo 11 rounds and it's still questionable whether his gloves were loaded or not.

I think that Cotto's power and boxing ability are going to be the keys to victory.

Cotto, hopefully, wont be affected by making 145 so he wont be drained like DLH was and will be able to keep up a more sustained attack and he wont be carelessly aggressive and defensively careless as Hatton.

I gave the fight to Shane myself, but it was still a close fight. I just felt Cotto didn't win....but it was no way a robbery. To hang in there with SSM you gotta be able to hold your own, that is withou quesiton.

I'm thinking PAC by stoppage. Cotto can win! No question. But he can't win a Decision with the styles. PAC is too fast, too busy and too dynamic IMO. He'll have to use what he has to beat PAC and that is SIZE, Strenth and power.

But I don't think there is any other way for this fight to go in terms of a "GREAT FIGHT". Its Manny and Cotto!

I was going to try and compare this to Duran stepping up to face Leonard. Cotto's no Leonard though, and i dont think the weight jump for Pac is as big as it was for Roberto. It's still as close as we're going to get for a very long time :bbb:bbb

Cotto doesn't have as big a height and reach advantage as some people seem to think. He is not bigger than Pac by that much and I think Pacmans speed will outweigh any size advantage Cotto has.

I take Pac by late stoppage.

The physical demensions are not that big of a difference more so than just the plan SIZE and build of Cotto being bigger. Put I agree PAC stops Cotto, but I don't think it will be a late stoppage unless Cotto is able to do some damage early on. Either way its gonna be war!
