The rumor going around in DC boxing gyms is that Jay-z is trying to help make Cotto vs Peter Quillin at the Barclys center. Roc Nation is trying to invest in the fight, and is trying to mend Top Rank, Al Haymon, Golden Boy issues by making all parties involved happy.

DC has a very strong boxing community where rumors like this always have some sort of weight behind them even if they're not all the way accurate.

anyway if the fight is made who would you have winning?

Peter Quillin or Cotto? I know Cotto doesn't do well with big guys, but Quillin is truly a bum. I don't know how to call this one.

Is there a possible way for Cotto to avoid a Mandatory with GGG vs Rubio by taking this fight

That would be one explanation as to why they'd bid so far above the others for Quillin-Korobov. It'd be cool if they could establish themselves as a neutral party that can serve as a buffer for cross-promotion fights. We may see them more often.

Well, considering Korobov will be by faaaaaaaaarrrr Quillins best opponent....I dont think Jay Z should be counting his chickens.......

I personally think Quillin will hang on and win a close, perhaps controversial decision as Korobov has no killer instinct, and has that tendency to give away middle rds letting a down fighter right back in it.

But when would this fight occur.

Quiillin Korobov is in what mid Nov.......it'd be at least February before he could fight again, and no chance Cotto waits til that close to his CASH OUT fight vs Canelo.

Cotto vs Bradley at 155 is the fight. We just need to start dealing with it now.:deal

If they can make Cotto vs Quillen , and put Bradley vs Thurman on the undercard I think they can possibly ppv this **** though. I would buy it... they just would have to price it right.

i'm hoping a championship fight will wake up korobov's far superior talent to chocolate dude. and how would 50 cent get to promote a quillin-cotto if it didn't go to purse bid (which is impossible)?

Cotto vs Quillin is a solid fight winner should fight Golovkin after
    Quillin stops Cotto

I got Cotto by TKO or a couple of knock downs. Quillin's chin is questionable and his defense is leaky.

Cotto refused to fight his mandatory Rubio, but Golovkin will fight Rubio next, after he knocks out Rubio, Golovkin will be Cotto's mandatory. Golovkin will knock Cotto out easily. Quillin has refused to fight Golovkin, so has Soliman, Sturm, Martinez refused also..................
