Cotto vs Peter Quillin in NY w/ Jay -Z co promote

Fact is, Cotto needs to fight GGG or give up the belt.

I hate to say it because I have no ill will towards Cotto, but this is boxing. The champ is supposed to fight the next guy in line.

That's GGG.

Quillin is avoiding any good fights. He won't fight GGG and he won't fight Jacobs.

GGG and Jacobs have been calling him out for damn near a decade now.

If cotto will fight quillin ,then he's clearly ducking GGG.

 

It can't and won't happen.

Cotto owes Arum and HBO one more fight. So it's got to be vs a guy not attached to Showtime.

He's also wanting to fight in December. Quillin vs Korobov is scheduled for Nov 11th(?)......He couldnt fight a month later, and ON HBO.

Cotto clearly wants a guy who aint gonna pick him apart like Lara or Trout, and he also don't want someone who'll KO him in a rd or 2 like GGG. But it's got to be an HBO approved fighter, and that leaves Lee and Bradley.

Bradley vs Cotto at 155 would do better PPV wise than vs Lee, and Im certain that Cotto is gonna want a PPV bout considering he'll be fighting Canelo in May and the outcome is already known, ie Canelo by KO.:think

 

love this fight. i think cotto knocks him. quillin has a suspectible chin and leaky defense

 

Quillin is cool, but always going life and death with B, C level fighters. And to add to that, they aren't exciting when those type of fights should. Cotto, tho I think his win over Maravilla was a sham, his heart and experience isn't and with his confidence and career revived ONCE AGAIN may be too much for Quillin. Quillin really, really lacks in ring generalship. He's never in full control of a fight and he's missing that something that special fighters have that make you want to watch them again. He's not as consistent as a Trout or Lara he's like a step below them right now.

 

I really like Cotto's chances , almost taylor made for Cotto's devastating LH!

 

Quillin doesn't move his head; could be trouble.

It would take Haymon paying Korobov something like 200K to step aside, while guaranteeing him a shot at another big fight, ie Jacobs, and at the same time, Haymon would have to pay Showtime money to ALLOW his fighter, SIGNED ExCLUSIVELY to Showtime, bwo of Haymon, soas Quillin could fight on HBO PPV.

It's fukking fantasy.

And JayZ aint gonna leap in with 8+mil for the main event alone in only his second big promotion.:----(
