Before Cotto lost to Margarito, every poll on the forums said that he'd beat a prime Tito. Now we're picking him to lose to shot and retired Tito? Has he declined that badly?

Well, partially it's that yes, he has taken some beatings and been in some wars.

Also, a statement like "every poll on the forums said that he'd beat a prime Tito" puts the onus on you to substantiate that with some exhaustively researched links. If anything, my money would be on 2+ year old polls on the subject revealing maybe a slight majority (if even a majority at all) favoring Cotto then over a prime Tito, depending on sample size.

No it's really not food for thought. Trinidad was competitive against Jones because Roy didn't do anything. Rewatch it, Roy didn't start to open up until mid fight. Plus Trinidad landed 29% of punches on a shot fighter while Cotto landed 20% of punches with one eye against Boxing's best fighter. Trinidad would be outworked all night long and eventually stopped.

Tito smashes him inside 5 rounds. His left hook is still deadly if it lands.

I thought it was prime for prime when I voted and naturally I was upset that there was no option for Tito by death and decapitation. Given that this is a current matchup, I thikn that Tito by KO is fair

They would have both come to fight. They would have both kept coming forward. I say if Cotto did not neutralize Trinidad's left, Trinidad takes it by KO. Cotto's defense wasn't good enough for Trinidad's power.

I agree. I voted Tito KO just for a joke. He's way too far past it and way to unactive for Cotto.
