Cotto vs Trinidad @ Welter

Cotto will be winning on points until he gets hit, and he will. Tito was an animal

 

Cotto would be down on points then he would get knocked out. He doesn't have the necessary lateral movement and handspeed to trouble Tito for me personally. Cotto just gets hit too much for me to like him against Tito.

I think Cotto could take a UD. He has the boxing ability to take Tito. It's very possible, however, that he gets hit by Tito's power and gets knocked out.

 

Trinidad by stoppage is the most likely outcome here.

If Pac & Margo can stop Cotto, so would Trinidad.
Id be suprised if Cotto won this fight tbh, I dont think he is capable of beating a prime Trinidad, personally.

I was never 1 of those guys that thought Tito was the p4p no1 at his best, he never had enough variety for my money but he was a very good & effective fighter that would be too much for Cotto IMO.

 

Yeah Trinidad is a predictable and one trick kind of guy but if you don't have a lot of movement, size to absorb the punches, or granite chin you probably aren't going to survive. He had deadly pinpoint accuracy with those hooks and probably would have stopped Cotto. Much sharper fighter than Margarito, just a bit slow footed at times. His height and reach would be another advantage in this kind of fight.

Trinidad breaks down Cotto before Cotto breaks down Trindad. Trinidad is a lot bigger than Cotto and had more power. Also, the only people that beat Trinidad were people who could dominate him with superior boxing skills. Cotto has good boxing skills, but I don't think he could do it at the level of Hopkins or De la Hoya. And even if he did he would not be disciplined to do it for a whole fight.

 

trinidad would knock him out. he'd be able to find cotto and trinidad is a bigger puncher then both margo and pacquiao.

Trinidad would hurt him worse than Margarito. Actually he probably wouldn't, because it would only take a few flush Tito hooks for any fighter to crumble, and I think Cotto certainly won't be able to handle the heat.

 

you're right. dlh, hopkins and wright were able to nullify trinidad's offense with their great defense. cotto while he has good skills, has never been a great defensive fighter. and he wouldnt have the chin to deal with that power either

 

Cotto's already been proven to be susceptible to loaded gloves.
