Glad to hear it's not PPV even though I expected every Cotto fight from now on to be, and wouldn't have been surprised if it was. Canelo fight looks like it's next for Cotto.

    Stephen Espinoza (Showtime Sports)

"We are proud to be working with Miguel Cotto Promotions on such a huge event. Miguel Cotto is an icon not only in the boxing world but also to New York sports fans. Bringing him back to this city to fight an undefeated champion in Austin Trout at Madison Square Garden is a perfect way to cap off what has been a landmark year for World Championship boxing on Showtime."

Serious WTF! That's worse than Pac v Clottey or Mayweather v Baldomir.

I remember hearing cotto would be working with golden boy to help promote the fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Canelo finds his way onto the undercard (he's looking for a December fight right?) which would justify the ppv. If not I don't see this show selling

Miguel wants to build his brand by winning a title in front of as many viewers as possible. Then, he will have a little more negotiating leverage for the mega unification bout with Canelo on May 5th.

The WBC will probably hide Canelo and say he can't unify with the WBA "regular" champ.

It's NOT PPV. And frankly, it's one of the bigger fights in recent memory not to be.
