I honestly dont like Williams. I think he is a bit overrated but he does have long arms and that causes many in the welterweight division problems but i think Cotto is skillful enough to get inside and beat that anorexic body down. I will go with Cotto wide UD.

i think williams is the only welter who can beat cotto. If williams is focused like in the second fight against Quintana then williams takes it IMO.

Cotto Chop's him down to the body.
Miguel would be forced to make an inside fight against Williams.
Pressure would throw Paul's game off IMO.
If Cotto can soften up Willams in the body the first half of the fight.
I expect the tree to come falling down about the 9th 10th Rd.

Miguel Cotto by 10th Rd T.K.O.

Williams has become extremely overrated after knocking out Quintana.. I must say, Quintana isn't one of the best fighters in the division.. He knocks him out in their rematch and all of a sudden is the biggest threat in the division along with Cotto? Cotto is too smart and too skillful and would beat Williams down.. Cotto by mid to late round TKO.. Margarito will even beat Williams in a rematch..

    Nobody is overrating Paul Williams.

He has just established himself as a factor in the welterweight division again by stepping in the ring and avenging his first career loss in enfatic fashion. Boxing has never been an exact science and that's one of the reasons why it'll always be entertaining, regardless of era.

Personally I don't see Paul Williams getting stopped by Cotto. He took a lot of flush shots, hard shots, from Quintana in their first meeting, and never looked hurt. Miguel Cotto can punch but he isn't a concussive puncher, so if Cotto will win it'll most likely be by decision.

Having said that, Boxing isn't an exact science. Feather-fisted Williams wasn't supposed to stop Quintana in the first round...but he did just that.

Williams better try to outbox Cotto. Because if he comes after him, he is going to get KTFO with a deadly left hook to the body that would break his skinny ass. Let Williams know that Quintana is no Cotto.

    Cotto KO [within 10 rounds]

IF Williams fights like he so obiously can (outside with long, straight lefts) he wins by an early KO. Miguel Cotto wins fights on pressure and body punching, and Williams can neutralize the body punching with his reach. As for the hyperactiviy....welll lets just say there is not many guys out there that can keep up with Paul.

    HOWEVER!!!!!!!!

If Williams fights like he does just about every outing(inside fights, punching with his elbows bent) then he gets KTFO in less than 5. cotto is relentless, and if you can't keep him at bay, you'll end up on the canvas.

His KO win over Quintana did establish him as a factor in the division, but is Quintana really that good of a fighter to beat to put you right there on top of the division with Cotto? Since he beat Quintana, people have been saying that he would've been Mayweather's biggest threat or that he can outpoint Cotto.. What did he show in his rematch with Quintana that can prove he can beat all the other top fighters in the division? He happened to catch Quintana and Quintana couldn't recover and this all happened in about two minutes.. Williams is a tall fighter with a long reach and Quintana was like a pea standing next to him.. Cotto is much, much smarter and would destroy Williams on the inside.. Do you really think that Williams could take punishment to the body from Cotto the whole fight?

Cotto by 10th round stoppage. All have tried and failed for a reason. Cotto is too strong and smart for 147. 154 he can probably still be a champ in.
