Read the post. I'm downplaying their economic strength. You claim he's not fighting Williams for monetarty reasons, but he's fighting guys who are box office lightweights.
For Cotto to fight at his best, he needs to be coming foward. I would like to see him try that against Williams. That's a sure way for him to get knocked out. Even if he tries to stay on the outside, he's in trouble. His only hope is that Williams lunges in and fights a sloppy fight like he did in the first Quintana fight. I can guarentee you that Arum will never let this fight happen.
Wouldn't this be a basic rerun of Margarito-Cotto? Margarito didn't hurt Williams , and Cotto didn't hurt Margarito, so probably Cotto wouldn't have much of an impact on Williams. Williams is relentless as is Margarito, so wouldn't Williams just wear down Cotto like Margarito did? Williams TKO Cotto.
I don't think it's that simple. I believe Margo has more power and a better chin than Williams. Cotto has much better skills than any of them. I'm not sure who would win, but I tend to believe people are grossly underrating Cotto around here these days.
The question is does Williams have th Granite Chin that Margie has? If not then it will be a bad night for Williams. Remember how bad a 39 year old " Trial Horse " made him look.
Are you talking about Phillips? Phillips has been a top 10 SWW for years, lost every round, was dominated, and stopped for the first time since the 80's.
Depends if Cotto can keep moving. He was unable in the Margarito fight, and Williams will equally make him expend his energy. A lot rides on whether Cotto improves his conditioning after the Margarito fight.
This one is a "no brainer" Williams is an elite fighter. Cotto is not on his level. I would be surprised if it went more than 8 rounds. PW KO in 7!!
if pw has enough power to drop quintana & kolle (even though hes not a threat hes still a bigger man) in 1 round... he could definitely atleast stagger cotto
