I'm going with Paul in this fight. I think Paul will do the same thing as Margarito did to Cotto and thats walk him down. Paul is not going to stop punching and coming forward. His reach is crazy, southpaw, and he taller. Miguel only chances is to get inside and bang the body but that would be hard because Paul can neutralize him with his jab. I'm going with Paul UD or late stoppage.

Paul by domination. Williams would probably carry most of the rounds in a 12 round fight. If Cotto comes at Williams like he did Margo, the fight would end in the 9th or 10th round T/KO for Paul williams.

I can't see Cotto stopping Paul williams' offense, that coupled with his weak chin and Paul's reach. I see Cotto falling behind on the card and then taking risks to get inside Paul's reach, he will try to dash in and will get caught, like Quintana.

Williams KO. Cotto abandons his precious body attack when faced with a ton of punches. He proved that in the Margo fight.

What does a beard have to do with cuts?

Also why do you think Williams has a worse beard than Margo? They both hurt each other when they fought, plus Williams has taken punches from the heavy handed Verno and suffered no ill effect.

As far as I see, Cotto power punching would be the worse thing he could do, because he isn't going to hurt Paul, but he is going to leave himself open to hits.

id love to agree with you but the fact is cotto never proved he had one punch ko power.....

and i always used to think cotto was a massive puncher but then i realized he has never one shot dropped anyone who mattered..

if paul ate all of margarito's shots & verno's & quintana's shots... im sure hell do the same with cotto's

the fact of the matter is paul williams could easily reproduce the game plan margarito executed on cotto (not saying he would win) except it would be way more effective because paul has faster hands and in my opinion can throw a bigger variety of punches than margarito can..... paul has so many different punches he can throw ...

When has Margo ever had fast hands?

Also look at Williams - Margarito, Paul beat Margo to the punch every time he tried to throw a jab, some times he would throw a 1 -2 and clinch by the time Margo got full extension.

Williams will beat the tar out of Cotto.

Cotto ain't got the beard for Petey.

Ya'll motha****az better quit dreamin! All this talk about body shots and doin him like Quintana... Yeah right. Y'all musta not seen't his last three fights. Cotto can't handle them kinda blows. Period.

Williams got a real good chin. He has never hit the deck in his entire career. Williams got just as good stamina. He actually outlasted Margo stamin-wise in their fight, despite the far greater punch output. Williams got just as good of workrate as Margo. Aside from that Clottey circus, Margo and Williams are about even in that department.

Williams will starch that fool in 6 Rounds. If that.

And you people go the nerve to say he OVERRATED?!?!?!

    He ain't proved a motha****in thang!

... Except that he can beat Golden Johnson by starting fast against a guy who can't move. And that he can take punches from a limited wuss like Kermit. And against Cotto he has proven that he still starts slow against opponents who can move and give him angles.

    PROVEN!?!?!:patsch

You have lost you damn mind, fool!:-(

It's not a lack of knowledge when it comes to using his height it's his preference. Being as lanky and tall as Paul is it's common sense that he'd use his reach and height to keep his opponents at bay.

But Paul likes to fight on the inside and he is normally better on the inside than most of his oppoennts. He's shown the ability to fight "tall"...he showed that when Marg began to rally in their fight. but the "FACT" is Paul can fight on the inside just as well as on the outside.

that's how he beat verno....on the inside with great success. And Paul has very good technical skills...I don't know why no one gives the man credit when he is showing angles, lateral movement and popping jab and the ablility to counter effectively.

I'd say Williams is more versitile than Cotto and I'm confident in that remark. Cotto is solid..has a good foundation and great fundementals but he's not as versitile as Paul nor does he hold any advantages against Paul.

Logic would suggest this is a one sided affair with Paul walking away early as the winner.

I know Williams has a solid chin, BUT can he take body punishment from Cotto for a full 12???? I'll go with Cotto with his clever angles and HARD body shots for a UD.
