According to Primera Hora Cotto said he most likely will fight Yuri Foreman at 154 lbs that he is open to anything and one more fight after that then close out his boxing career.
As much as I'm not for Margarita making another penny in boxing....Cotto's last fight maybe should be against Margarita. So he can go out in a kick the hell out of Margarita bang !!!!

This will look like Foreman-Santos. :-(

154 is too big, the bulk will not be worn well. Besides, Cotto needs an easy opponent. Foreman isn't among the greater beltholders ever, but he's hardly an appropriate choice to bounce back after the Pacquiao fight. A far lighter touch is needed...hell, lighter than Gomez or Jennings.

Cotto is to small for 154. He should remain at 147.

Cotto should have a tune-up at 154, test the waters....then fight foreman....and he could go down as a 3 division world champion...

I really don't know what to think. I want to see him fight again, but damn hes taken a beating n I hate it. Cotto was ready and Pacquiao jus took everything away from him, I dunno if he has anything left

Yuri Foreman didn't overly impress me. He moved and boxed pretty well but not much in the way of power or strength or anything really special about him. He did the job but it was clear as day Daniel Santos was not in any kind of condition for a 12 round championship fight. He turned up after being AWOL all fat and out of shape and his timing was atrocious like he hadn't sparred one round to prepare.

I would be concerned about Cotto at 154. He's not really got the dimensions for that weight class.

I think Cotto takes Foreman....I think Foreman will steal some rounds though and it will probably be pretty close. But it's a clear step up in competition for Foreman, and while its a step up in weight for Cotto, Foreman is in no way a big puncher, so I think it makes sense.

Even a weaker champion like a Foreman, Phillips, or legless Spinks is a step too far for Cotto. His legacy is at welterweight. He needs to get back to work there.

Imagine Cotto did get a belt there? Imagine a unification bout between him and Martinez (or Williams)? :scaredas: As Cotto fans let's hope that never even comes close to happening.

I think a move to 54 would be the right move for Cotto. He could enjoy an increase in strength by removing the burden of making 147 and by bulking up some.

If he stays true to his 2 fight and out plan then he mine as well attempt to earn a title in yet another weight class.

Foreman and then Margarito sounds good to me.

I have to agree with that......PW and Martinez would probably be a bit too much for Cotto at this point.......I give the man all the credit in the world if he does go this route, but I wouldnt like his chances.

Weak 147lb tuneup (B- level at best) and then winner of Berto-Mosley should be Cotto's only thoughts.

Disagree about the strength. I see a 154 pound Cotto as being more uncomfortable and sluggish. He's not a huge welterweight.

If he truly has only 2 fights left then why take a tune up?

Gomez didn't really help him for Margarito and Jennings imo didn't service him for Clottey, as far as I could tell anyways.

Personally I think his loss to Pac really hurt his chances at 147 lbs relevancy so he really has nothing to lose by moving up.
