I believe if Cotto tries to brawl with Pac with his suspect chin, he will get KTFO. If Cotto the tries to play it safe, pick his spots and try to wear down Pac he will lose via close UD at 147.

    heheheh, same here...

though, personally, I don't think he boxed as you should vs. someone as flat-footed as Margarito (esp. given Margarito's work-rate & granite-chin).

He didn't box as he should... he should have been light on his feet... in & out..., he spent far too much time on the inside (most of the time not even by his choice-- he got stalked & pinned.. but you'd think he would've worked on slipping & getting out over n over again in training)... & Margarito was able to dominate him as the fight wore on, imo... (stamina being key as you already said).

"PR Pride" - lol - and i agree!

I said Cotto would have to put it on Pacquiao.. not the other way around.
Pacquiao can catch Cotto coming in..., Cotto in no way shape or form is good on the backfoot/with his back against the ropes/counter-punching.

There are 2 blueprints.. the Morales blueprint & the Marquez one... -- it takes a great great fighter of either style to see it through (boxer-puncher or counter-puncher!). Cotto has to try and implement Morales'.

Coping with Manny's speed is the X-Factor here, as always.

The Cotto vs. Judah & Mosley has a decent shot.. mixing it up & that.
but the Cotto that showed up vs. Margarito. Far as I'm concerned, he'll get TKO'd inside 6-8 tops!!

Still wana see Pacquiao's ribs get repeatedly tested over the course of a fight (or half-a-fight hah)..!

I think anyone pushing the fight should meet the others demand. And at this time everyone wants Pac so they should come to him.

However Pac going up and meeting him at his natural weight will mean so much more and he can go ahead and kill all the excuses people are already assuming.

Much tougher fight for him at 147 but I don't think Cottos stamina wiil hold against a man with that much movement. And no I don't think Cotto will hurt a fully hydrated Pac.

Cotto surprised me with his boxing skills! He did so with Shane and cemented his boxing skills during the fist half of the fight with Marg. I do agree that Cotto did not box the way he should have with Tony. Well......he should have boxed for 12 rounds. He was doing everything right early on and he should have stuck to the game plan.

What I thought would happen did! His pride over took his composure and instead of "boxing" he would be baited into a inside battle at times early on and continully Marg would get closer and closer to where the majority of the fighting was on the inside where Marg dominated.

If Cotto had the stamina and the mental capacity to keep his cool and let his Pride chill he could without a doubt out box Marg. But Cotto has stamina issues and he's a WARRIOR! He'll go toe to toe as fast as it takes to feel a stiff jab.

You're right however! Cotto will need to put the pressure on PAC and he'll need to be able to get to those ribs to slow him down if he is to have a chance at winning this one. the Blue print that EM put out and that JMM put out have got to be revised a bit considering how PAC has "seemingly" evolved, but I can see Cotto winning.....just not as much as I see PAC taking this one.

    Good analysis though!:good

Pac - 142 or nothing... who the hell knows what happens when he "actually gets hit"... that I credit to Pacs skill for "not" getting hit in his last 2 bouts. Pac can fight anyone just about right now and make as much as Cotto vs the top welters.

Cotto - 144 or nothing... Unless his needs the dough that bad. Theres always Mosley, Berto or even Williams. (Margo whenever he comes back).

Arum - $$$. Has Pac locked up for a while and only Cotto till the end of the year... Folks, if this fight takes place, it will be at 144.
