THere is nothing to argue about PAC's win over JMM......what is up for debate is the bogus draw that JMM got lucky to recive based on a mistake. The rematch had PAC doing more damage, winning clearly and wasn't credited with anther legit KD that should have been called....PAC owns JMM although his style is one that will always give PAC a little trouble. But this version of PAC JMM has never seen.....JMM helped MAKE this version of PAC. DLH was past his best....but that version of DLH was still good enough to take Floyd 12 close, competitive rounds a year earlier. EM was still operating at the sports highest levels although not his very best overall. I'm not fooled by greatness that is evident thorugh performance. It's blind biased boxing fans who are blined b/c they choose not to give credit to a fighter who has clearly earned it. Haters are gonna hate and they are on the job 24/7, rain or shine
I've learned that I will never bet on a Pac fight again, he's constantly embarrassing my predictions. My god what a beast, I seriously thought the exact opposite would happen. I mean even those who thought he would win probably didn't think he would impose his will and power over Cotto like that. Good for Pac though, he proved he has the what it takes to dominate bigger fighters that aren't shot and one dimensional. That being said, please tell me the TS is joking.
Cotto wasn't shot; he would have been stopped a lot earlier had he have been. He was game but Pac is just that damn good.
I guess you know more that Freddy Roach. Because even Freddy said he got worried with the way Cotto was fighting at the beggining. Cotto showed a few times the tools to dominate, he just didn't do it enough. I could believe how many time he stood in front of Pac without throwing anything. Just waiting for PAcquiao to throw. To fight Manny Pacquiao you have to be either throwing punches or out of his ****ing way. You should never stand at his distance because you are giving him the chance to use his hands speed. May be you can't see it. Hell, many boxers can't understand that. But that is the way it is. That's why boxers need trainers that tell them what they are doing wrong. Cotto was in great physical shape last night. But all the mistake he made against MArgarito are still there. Nothing has been fixed and that makes him very vulnerable for any boxer who throws a lot of punches. Cotto had acquired too many bad habits and nobody is fixing him. He will not beat everyone just by showing heart and courage. He needs to be corrected.
At 154. That's the difference. He didn't have to make a weight he had'nt made for 8 years in that fight like he did in the Pacquiao fight, nor was he in such a bad condition that he had to be rehydrated on a drip instead of naturally like he was in the Pacquiao fight. Even Roach admitted De La Hoya was past his best and dead at the weight. Get over it. Really? Because as far as I can see, he get dominated by Zahir Raheem fight before the two Pacquiao fights. You and I both now there's no way Pacquiao would stop a primer Morales in 3 rounds. No way. Especially not that version. What a ridiculous comment. Performance? Pacquiao looked as good as he did against De La Hoya because Oscar allowed him to look that good. It's like me saying I'm an ATG based on the way I performed on the heavy bag. Same principle, all DLH did was soak up punches. Go ahead and continue calling me a hater then. I don't give a ****, because I'm not. Pacquiao is a great fighter no doubt with some great wins, but am I going to call every win great? No, I'm not. And that goes for the DLH & Morales wins. Great wins are A level victories over top guys at there relative peak. This Cotto win for example. The first Barrera win. Were DLH & Morales at there relative peaks? No, they absolutely weren't.
excuses...excuses......dont make excuses for Cotto...because he himself never made one...you're just making a fool of yourself and washing Cotto's fearless effort down the drain.....
I called this fight all along. Cotto was better than I thought though and game so I was surprised he lasted as long as he did. Unfortunately I had to watch it in chinese since my cable PPV channel was blank after ordering it so had to find my own way of watching it. That cable company is in for a rude call once I wake up. I was already charged for the f ing fight too.
In his early career he was pressuring nobodies. Last night he tried pressuring the best fighter of his generation. See the difference. He didn't even pressure Mosley just to put an exclamation point on it. Basting his performance against lower level competition is stupid.
Yeah right!! Is that why you were all over that thread about DelaHoya saying Pacquiao doesn't hit hard. I guess Miguel Cotto didn't get the message By the way your hero is a dumbass for picking Cotto by the way.
I am a die hard Cotto fan and weight was not the issue. Marg obviously broke Cotto's will and mental toughness but like somebody commented during the telecast last night a very good to great fighter just got beat by an ATG. Any form of Cotto would have had his hands full with the Pac of last night. That's hard for me to say because i actually thought Pac was overrated. Pac beats anyone from 147 down with the exception of Mosley, Mayweather,PW.
