Cotto was doing so well with the jab, why did he stop using it?

He was catching Manny flush as well. He got involved in a brawl and lost his way after Pac started landing clean.

If MAB can outbox Pac I just don't see Mayweather losing but Pac will haves his moments as he loses a UD just, not a good match up for Pac.

Pacman was wailing on him, he reverted to the home-run-swing tactic pretty early on. Pac's ability to get in and out so quickly and aggressively was making a difference as early as round 2.

Manny neutrilize Cottos Jab like what they said during camp. Everytime Cotto Jabs Pac hooks to the right and turn him right away.

Southpaw right hook is tailor made for a left hook to the body. . .why on Earth could Cotto not get his money punch going? I think he just mentally broke down after the KD's. I think he conceded defeat after the second KD. Pacman simply owned his soul tonight.

No buts also about entertainment. What do you prefer layups or dunks? Both are worth 2 points and part of basketball game.

Go watch any of Pacs fights, the first couple of rounds he did something you never see him do which is stand still with gloves up letting Cotto tee off on him. As he was explaining after the fight to Larry Merchant, he was just testing Cottos "power" and once he found out it wasnt ****, then he went to work. Im sure Roach was shitting himself when he saw Manny stand there and take shots on purpose. I was really confuse why Pac didnt throw the left uppercut.. that shot was there for the taking and would have ended the fight alot earlier. So basically he let Cotto do his "gameplan" early (the jab), before squashing that ****. Props to Cotto though, his interview after the fight showed hes a class act.

Good post, the fight was amazing live. Cotto was looking really good, I remember the Pacquaio fans were looking hella-nervous around me for a minute, but once Cotto got greedy and tried to boss Pacquaio around and brawl, Pacquaio got the better of it and that blinding speed jus killed Cotto in the exchanges.

I jus kept yelling JAB! FIGHT SMART! But it was too late come mid-rounds.

Also I was very impressed for how well Pacquiao was taking Cottos punches, his head snappin up back left and right but he still kept coming.

Pacquaio is a great fighter and although im sad Cotto lost, it was an amazing experience watching these two warriors. They did exactly what they said they would do. Fighting the best and giving it their all. Way to go Pacquaio and Cotto!

Props to Cotto on his interview as well - what a class act.

Also, Cotto is a warrior, and those type of guys do not want to win fights with a jab even if they can.

I have to agree about his corner and inexperienced trainer. But no matter what trainer he had, he still would have lost.

Cotto was using the jab pretty consistently. Manny was just countering everything he was doing. When Cotto got off one punch, Manny got off 3. Some of you should watch the fight again. Manny's boxing in this fight was brilliant.

Good posting! Couldnt agree more, but surely his corner can slap some sense into him before this avalanche begins, he started going in for the kill from the 2nd round:-(that was over confidence or just plain stupidity.
